Intuition - is it something esoteric, scientific, spiritual, miracle, en early warning system, or an everyday thing? Perhaps, it is all this and much more. The brain is storing information, patterns, and compares these constantly. These are stored from current and past experiences, environmental cues, etc. Genetic coding from earlier generations dating all the way back to the cave dwelling ancestors. These are sometimes called "instincts". The pattern matches are what provides us with intuition or, "knowing without knowing how you know." Can we develop this capability? Whether or not we are consciously aware, the brain is recording and storing all information. The question is, can we harness this to our advantage? Sure, all of us have experienced this at some point. How do we harness this capability? - Dhyana is one that works and works well. Do you know of any other way? #Intuition #dipanvaishnav

“When there is a big environmental change most of the population will react “epigenetically” to that. This happens well before any random mutations could enable them to react in the human species.” - David Noble The question how do we get this back into the human genome. I.e. stabilization? Stochasticity in the human relationships allow for enough variation to allow for adaptability??! The transfer seems to occur from “morphic resonance” back to a sort of permanence. (Poor imprecise words and not articulate enough) Thoughts after listening to @David Noble this morning on Curt Jaimungal! Personal thoughts: We are one system and appear as expressions of. This has major application to agentic work loads and needs thematic matching to a biological / physics function set for lack of a Better words…. I am just not articulate enough and my time is spread. Good thing I work with smart people. Personal experience: The process of letting go in meditation allows us to understand we are not separate from and the process flows. You can experience the transfer and measure from things such as heart rate, sweat, and calming down… Personal opinion: I think a major key for success in agentic systems is our ability to apply and dynamically allow “pressure” (restabilization) with a goal of improving “adaptability” and allowing that to take “time”. We will naturally want to force this to happen faster. By allowing sparcity it will flow. Super challenging. Detecting misuse is our priority and ensuring #responsibleai #responsible social activity is our mission. Morning meditations. Unveiling the Psychological Significance of the Rubber Arm Experiment in Phantom Limb Syndrome Phantom limb syndrome, a perplexing phenomenon where individuals perceive sensations or even pain in limbs that no longer exist, has long intrigued psychologists and neuroscientists alike. Insights have been drawn from the groundbreaking rubber arm experiment to unravel its mysteries. The rubber arm experiment, pioneered by neuroscientist Vilayanur S. Ramachandran and colleagues, sheds light on the intricate interplay between sensory perception and body representation in the brain. By placing a rubber hand in the visual field of a participant and synchronously stroking both the rubber hand and the participant's hidden hand, researchers induce a compelling illusion where participants perceive the rubber hand as their own. This illusionary experience offers profound insights into the plasticity of body representation in the brain and has profound implications for understanding conditions like phantom limb syndrome. In individuals with phantom limb syndrome, the brain's representation of the missing limb remains intact, leading to vivid sensations and even pain emanating from the non-existent limb. The rubber arm experiment underscores the profound influence of visual and tactile cues on our perception of bodily selfhood and highlights the malleability of body image in the brain. By leveraging these insights, psychologists can develop innovative therapies for individuals with phantom limb syndrome, such as mirror therapy and virtual reality interventions, which aim to alleviate phantom limb pain and restore a sense of wholeness and embodiment. #PhantomLimbSyndrome #RubberArmExperiment #Neuroscience #Psychology #WaqarPsychology

The "Stoned Ape Theory," proposed by Terence McKenna and discussed by Joe Rogan, suggests that psilocybin mushrooms played a significant role in the evolution of early human ancestors. According to this theory, the consumption of these mushrooms by Homo erectus and other hominids led to increased brain function, particularly in areas related to language, memory, and social behavior. Psilocybin is believed to have enhanced neural connectivity, which may have spurred advancements in human consciousness, communication, and societal development (Daily Express US). https://lnkd.in/duNnii_J For a private, guided, high-dose psilocybin truffle experience, see PsychedelicInsights.com.

This blog by Ralph Kilmann contrasts two paradigms for understanding human behavior. The traditional Cartesian-Newtonian paradigm views behavior as determined by genetic code and mechanistic laws, evolving slowly and deterministically. In contrast, Rupert Sheldrake's quantum-relativistic paradigm posits that behavior and development are influenced by morphogenetic fields, which exist beyond space and time and interact with genetic information. These fields can cause rapid, global behavioral changes when individuals repeatedly engage in certain behaviors. This perspective suggests that behavior is shaped not only by genetic code but also by subtle energy fields, and that conscious repetition of behaviors can transform the collective behavior of a species. This idea aligns with the notion that altering one's behavior can influence broader tendencies in humanity, echoing Gandhi's insight on personal change affecting the world. 🚨 Another "60,000" Myth Busted 🚨 Remember the claim that humans “process visuals 60,000x faster than text”? Turns out, there’s another 60,000 stat making the rounds: *Humans have 60,000 thoughts per day, 90% of them repetitive.* 🧠 This figure has popped up everywhere, from meditation sites to even the Stanford University Twitter/X account. But where's the research to back it up? Spoiler alert: There isn't any. 🕵️♂️ I went on a deep dive, reaching out to psychologists, tracking citations, and investigating supposed NSF studies. The verdict? This number has no credible scientific foundation—just like the earlier 60,000 visual claim. Moral of the story: When numbers sound too neat, take a breath, dig deeper, and always chase the *real* data. We’re better off with truths, not catchy myths. #MythBusting #CriticalThinking #DataMatters #ScienceNotMyths #Neuroscience Fact-Checking 60,000 Thoughts: The Mystery Behind a Misleading Statistic https://lnkd.in/eD4Ttkvr

For me, pseudoscientific topics related to quantum physics and cosmology, like quantum healing and the universe's frequency, are particularly frustrating. Recently, I found a fitting term that perfectly describes these phenomena in three words: pseudo-profound bullsh*t, introduced by Gordon Pennycook. Pseudo-profound bullsh*t (PPB) refers to statements that sound profound and meaningful but are just a collection of buzzwords designed to impress rather than inform. Who is most vulnerable to PPB? Pennycook and his colleague found that those who are less reflective, have lower #cognitive abilities. #ChatGPT is the master of producing pseudo-profound bullsh*t: "Quantum energy resonates with the universal vibrations, unlocking the hidden potential within every particle and harmonizing the cosmic frequencies to elevate our collective consciousness." Thanks to Dr. Jonathan N. Stea who mentioned the original article on his Twitter account. #pseudoscience #quantum #education https://lnkd.in/dQ4yPCyv

It's well-known in the neuroscience community that images are fundamental to how the mind works. They are the psyche’s preferred way of learning and processing information. Long before we developed written language, humans were thinking in images—accessing inner visions and expressing them outwardly. (...prehistoric tribes painting their stories and visions onto cave walls.) These ancient depictions weren’t just art; they were profound expressions of how the human mind connects to the world. But somewhere along the way, we lost touch with this essential part of our intelligence. Our modern, left-brain-dominated culture has shifted away from imagery, placing more value on words, analysis, and abstract concepts. We came to neglect the nonverbal, intuitive wisdom that comes from the right hemisphere, where images speak louder than words. Images are more than just pictures—they're doorways to hidden wisdom, allowing us to access deeper layers of intelligence and insight. In the MetaphorMind process, we engage with metaphoric images to enter the “Third Space” beyond the thinking mind. We connect with something greater than our thinking mind, unlocking a vast field of creative intelligence. The right hemisphere of the brain is designed to view the world intimately, to connect and make meaning through symbols and imagery. Yet, as Roger Sperry, Dr Iain McGilchrist and others have noted, our culture overlooks this vital part of our intellect, prioritizing logic over creativity, analysis over intuition. By tapping into the power of metaphoric images, we allow ourselves to access a deep knowing that transcends the rational mind. It’s not about dismissing logic, but about recognizing the wisdom of the psyche’s natural language—images that arise from our inner world and hold the potential for profound insight and growth. It's time we reconnect with the intelligence that flows from images—just as our ancestors did in those caves long ago.
