This is interesting—not just the paper or the ability to learn through full supervision with 10 million samples, but the broader, universal application of transformers across different domains and problems. From my perspective, the most significant unanswered question is: What makes sequential modeling work across so many domains? I understand how large language models (LLMs) generate new words, actions, or sounds by imposing constraints on how the problem is modeled and how the architecture is designed. But my main question is: Can we think of most aspects of daily life as sequences? And does this assumption hold for things we haven't considered before? Could this be related to the insight Andrey Kolmogorov shared with his student Vladimir Vovk: 'Look around you; you do not only see infinite sequences. There are finite sequences'?"
