When you go to the Gold Coast for a holiday, you don’t care that two of the main theme parks are 47km from the airport or which council areas they’re in, do you? You probably don’t even think about it. The Blue Mountains and Western Sydney has traditionally been a day trip destination from the current CBD and Kingsford Smith Airport or a weekend getaway for Sydneysiders. But come 2026, the new Western Sydney International Airport will bring us a new type of visitor, one that we still need to get our head around. Judging by the Gold Coast example, passengers from around the world will filter far and wide throughout our region without questioning. They will stay and play, eat and play, see and play, do business and play, visit friends and family and play wherever they can get to quickly and easily. We need to work together as an industry to erase those traditional council boundaries from our guest experience as soon as they alight the plane. Our guests should be encouraged to crisscross between Blue Mountains, Penrith and Hawkesbury and guided through their visit no matter what they want to do and where. We also need to stop worrying about where they will stay as long as they book a bed in Penrith, the Hawkesbury or Blue Mountains. How long they stay will depend on how ready we are and how many accessible attractions we have. The first passenger planes touch down in 2 years time. Is Western Sydney ready for this new visitor? Not yet. We need more things for more people to do more often before then. So big thinkers, what are you waiting for? Get those big projects out of your heads and into reality. And if you’re an existing attraction that currently does not service the inbound market, get export ready and join forces with the rest of the industry to maximise this global opportunity. Western Sydney needs you. #westernsydney #airportready #wsi #visitbluemountains #penrithishere #visithawkesbury Simon Hickey Catherine Payne @Pru Car MP Destination NSW Richard Fox Penrith Chamber Business Western Sydney Susan Templeman 📸 courtesy Western Sydney International Airport

Lonely Planet named East Anglia as one of the best regions in the world to visit! 🌍Having lived in Cambridgeshire all my life and travelled extensively across the region, I can confidently say that it’s one of the most charming places on the planet, our region blends the untouched beauty of rural landscapes with the rich cultural heritage of major cities. Cambridge, in particular, holds a special place in my heart, not just as my home city, but as a city that seamlessly combines tradition with innovation to a drive burgeoning economy with emerging technologies and new industries. The outstanding natural beauty of Norfolk’s coastline and Suffolk’s countryside offer a perfect blend. I like nothing more than a seaside walk in Southwold with the family followed by fish & chips with an Adnams beer. This recognition is a great incentive for both domestic and international visitors to discover more of our beautiful region. However, I will say if the necessary upgrades to critical infrastructure are made, the East could easily position itself as a top global destination! Improved transport links, modernised facilities, and enhanced digital connectivity would make this already appealing region even more accessible and enjoyable for visitors and residents. The Eastern Powerhouse has long argued that enhanced infrastructure could transform the way people explore and move in this area. As the budget approaches, it’s clear that investing in infrastructure would not only boost tourism but also support local businesses, attract a broader range of visitors, and bring in more investment. This sustainable growth could be achieved while protecting the natural and historic treasures our region is known for. Enhanced public transport and digital connectivity would make the region more inclusive, with more opportunities for rural communities, ensuring that everyone can experience the best the Eastern region has to offer. https://lnkd.in/eewMQXyk

https://lnkd.in/gU-piuqp The Beauty of the Bahamas: A Tropical Paradise Introduction The Bahamas, an archipelago of 700 islands, is one of the most stunning tropical paradises in the world. With its crystal-clear waters, powdery white sand beaches, and vibrant culture, it’s no surprise that this island nation is a dream destination for travelers. Let’s dive deep into the beauty of the Bahamas and discover what makes it so magical. 1. A Glimpse into the Geography of the Bahamas The Bahamas stretches over 100,000 square miles i n the Atlantic Ocean, just southeast of Florida. With only about 30 islands inhabited, it’s an excellent destination for those seeking secluded beaches or bustling tourist hotspots. The archipelago's strategic location makes it easily accessible from many parts of the world. 2. The Turquoise Waters: Nature’s Masterpiece One of the Bahamas' most captivating features is its turquoise waters. The ocean here is so clear that you can see straight to the bottom, even at great depths. The shallow banks around the islands create stunning shades of blue, contrasting beautifully with the white sand beneath. Whether you’re snorkeling or simply lounging by the shore, the pristine waters are a treat for the eyes.
