Monday Motivation: The Balance Between Business and Family As business owners and leaders, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle—early mornings, late nights, and everything in between. But over the weekend, I was reminded of something significant – the weekends are far busier than the workweek—between football, rugby, netball, dance, and countless kids’ birthday parties 🎉. But amidst the chaos, these are the moments that matter most. They recharge us, give us perspective, and remind us why we’re working so hard in the first place. In leadership, we often discuss priorities and goals, but true success isn't measured solely by business achievements—it's also about the relationships we nurture along the way. Let me try it with a current squad team and their travel time. 🚌 Developer 1, lives in Bulacan, three hours 🚌 Infra architect, lives in Makati, one hour 🚌 Analyst 1, lives in San Pedro, Laguna, two hours 🚌 Developer 2 lives in Caloocan, two hours 🚌 Delivery Lead, lives in QC, one hour Now, let's compute how much hours is spent for them to arrive at a central office, let's say Central BGC or Makati CBD. I would get an average of 1.8 hours from the Squad group just to arrive at work. 🚕 🚕 🚕 Are "samples" representative of the Population? it may or may not depending on some outlier/s. Hence, why we need to deep dive into more data sets. It may change our assumptions and our theory about transportation and the location distribution of our co-workers. Why are so many people living in far out locations in South and North? - The real estate prices in those areas are much cheaper than in BGC, Makati - CBD is already dense, with traffic present in EDSA - mostly foreigners can afford the high rise condo units Possible after effects of Transportation Problem. - more and more developers opt for WFH options. - it's now harder to hire people for on-site/hybrid work. #recruiting #hiring #transport #population
