I have a Bachelors of Science in Education - specialization In Mathematics. I Taught for 3 years. Yes, I taught with a SMART Technologies Interactive Whiteboard and a NEC Corporation Projector (I Still LOVE my #SMARTDisplay even in my business life 💜 ) That is for a different post! 😉 Let me first say... The opinions are solely my own! There is so much in this Podcast that has me #angry, #Upset, #sad and #questioning. #Education is in my Blood. I have Learned so much from the #HigherEd tech managers by working with and attending HETMA events and Educational Technology Collaborative events. #AudioVisual Technology Equipment always seems to be the Last Thought. Whatever #budget is left, that is what goes to #AVEquipment. BUT.. the thoughts around what the #Technology needs to be, OH are these grand visions!! #HigherEducation Institutions are teaching the next generation of #Doctors, #Lawyers, #Teachers, #Accountants,#BusinessOwners, ........ The #CollogeStudent has had Technology at their fingertips since they were little. The #Budget the #HigherEDTech Managers get, in my mind, is like teaching the students with a Hammer 🔨 and making Cuneiforms! The #professors just wants to get info out the #students. Can they #See 👀 and #hear 👂 what is being taught. #admissions what's the #WOW factor to get students to attend that university. #Provost,#CollegePresidents have a plan to take the University to the next level. So is #EVERYONE sitting at the table to discuss this? #commensesne Right? Eh, not so much. Now Insert the #SalesPerson, #ManufacturerRep, #Architect, #Consultant. Each of these groups have their own thoughts. The #TechManager at the #HigherEdInstitution has to now figure out how to meet all the needs on a $1 budget!! Yes, I am in #Sales.. BUT... I have Learned to #Listen. And in Listening to this #Podcast, I throw out a #challenge... Get everyone at the table from the #HighEd Institutions. #Listen to each other, get a plan and then tell #Sales your budget and scope. Tell us your #instructional space Standards or the #teaching outcome for that space and then #Worktogether!! Don Merritt, PhD made a great point to look at the spaces that are listed as #Teaching and #learning or #instructionalSpaces. If Spaces are not being used, #decommission and #repurpose the tech. 💡 There is so much more to this and it is not going to get solved today, May not get solved in a year but..... #HigherEdTech Managers... Sony Pictures Entertainment, a subsidiary of Sony Corporation, is a major player in the film and television industry, producing and distributing a wide range of movies, TV shows, and digital content. Some of the notable film franchises under Sony Pictures include “Spider-Man,” “James Bond,” and “Jumanji,” among others. In addition to film and television, Sony Music Entertainment is one of the “Big Three” music companies, alongside Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group, and has a rich catalog of artists across various genres. This strategic diversification into content and media has allowed Sony to remain a significant global conglomerate, even as it faced challenges in the electronics market. By leveraging its strengths in content creation and distribution, Sony has managed to create new revenue streams and maintain its relevance in a rapidly changing technological landscape, proving that the company’s innovation extends beyond just electronic devices.
