My thanks to ACI Learning and to Hernan for allowing me to join him as part of their Skeptical Auditor webinar series. The Unfiltered Truth Behind Audits! It's Fun Fact Friday, and guess what? Even in the oh-so-organized realm of ISO Management systems, audits can still be a whirlwind of chaos and surprises? 😂 Brace yourselves for a rollercoaster ride through the wild terrain of audits! Picture this: you are all set, documents in hand, ready to dazzle auditors, but oops! Some papers decide to play hide-and-seek, or your computer decides it's the perfect time to take a nap, leaving you stranded in a sea of digital mayhem. But wait, there's more! Process owners get creative with excuses, workspaces undergo a miraculous transformation from chaos to cleanliness in a blink (only to revert back just as fast), and auditors finding themselves audited by the very employees they're assessing, uncovering the dynamics of the organization from a whole new angle. Talk about a plot twist! And let's not forget the self-proclaimed ISO expert confidently asserting their knowledge, only to be left scratching their head by the simplest of auditor questions. The post-audit scene is a mixed bag of celebrations and commiserations, where employees either breathe a sigh of relief or playfully blame the auditors for any slip-ups. Audits may feel like a comedy of errors, but fear not, dear auditors and auditees! These moments are valuable lessons in preparation, resilience, system robustness, and the importance of keeping your sense of humor intact amidst the chaos. So, the next time you encounter a hiccup during an audit, remember to laugh, learn, and embrace the chaos. After all, it's all part of the thrilling journey toward continuous improvement! 🎪✨ Auditors and auditees, feel free to share your experiences in the comments below, so we can all have a good laugh together. It's Fun Fact Friday, after all! #QualityMatters #Funfacts #QMS #ISOAudits #ContinuousImprovement

🌟 Audit Time: Not Fun, But Totally Worth It 🌟 Let’s be honest—nobody really looks forward to audit time. It often means long hours of scrutiny, a lot of checklists, and a whole lot of paperwork. But then, you get feedback like we did last week, and it makes it all worthwhile. Our team was thrilled to hear from our most recent auditor that "Pure Ground Ingredients was the best spice manufacturing plant he had audited." 🙌 This kind of recognition doesn't come easy. It’s the result of countless hours of hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence from every single person on the team. It’s those moments that remind us why we do what we do—and why maintaining the highest standards matters. So, while audits may not always be the most exciting part of the job, they’re a powerful tool to ensure we’re doing our best—and when we get a compliment like this, it's all worth it. Proud of the team at Pure Ground Ingredients! Let’s keep raising the bar. 🚀 #Teamwork #QualityExcellence #AuditFeedback #SpiceManufacturing #ContinuousImprovement #ProudMoment #QualityStandards #QualityFirst #Organic

Last week I took the time to participate in this short webinar in order to stay up to date on auditing topics. I have worked with external auditors from the company Intertek and I was quite motivated to see that one of their auditors was an expert in this session. But, more importantly, as an auditor certified in the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, I consider that in this role we must always remain in constant evolution, and one way to do this is to be able to see the perspective of the external auditors and what points are more focused when searching for objective evidence to ensure compliance. Here is a list of some notes that I consider important to keep in mind with audit topics. 1) The focus should be the processes that had the most weaknesses from the previous audit. 2) The audit distribution must ensure impartiality between process and auditors. 3) It is appreciated that the documents are easy to access. 4) Initially, the internal auditor is trained externally; this external training must include knowledge of the requirements of management standards; Therefore, there must be training periods and internal audit practices focused on the company's processes. 5) The first audit periods of this role are carried out under the mentorship of the lead auditor. 6) It is appreciated that the auditee answers only what is asked. Finally, it was not really explicit, but I consider that most of this conversation was based on the requirements of the ISO 19001:2018 Guidelines for the Audit of Management Systems standard. Thanks.
