Ah, the humble checklist—the ultimate productivity tool and source of satisfaction. Who doesn’t love checking off those little boxes? It feels like a win every time! But while checklists are great for keeping us on track, they can also keep our heads down, missing out on the real wins: connecting with the people around us. Sure, checklists help us stay organized, but when we’re too focused on them, we stop paying attention to those who matter—whether it’s a colleague, a client, or even family. We’re not listening, we’re not engaging, and that’s where we lose out on building the relationships that truly help us thrive both at work and in life. 💪Keep your checklists in check by: - Adopting an others-focused mindset—shift your focus from the tasks to the people around you. Relationships move things forward in ways checklists never can. - Set time and space to focus on your checklist—block off time to tackle the tasks, but then put the list away so you can be fully present with the people in front of you. The real magic happens when we balance tasks and relationships. So, check your checklist, but don’t let it keep you from checking in with others! #activelistening #selfleadership #relationshipbuilding

A very timely read for a distractable mind such as mine. Peter Robinson from tms.co.nz shares his insights on how we can increase our productivity by making better use of our time using the 80:20 rule. My favourites: Time allocation. Time blocking. Eliminating distractions. It's nothing you haven't heard before, but it does serve as a great reminder of how we can use our time more effectively by adopting some simple, yet effective prioritisation techniques.
