Last week #AusIndustry Regional Managers attended the AusIndustry Business Support Showcase with Cathy Freeman OAM on Arrernte country, Alice Springs. The showcase was run in collaboration with the Industry Northern Territory’s October Business Month program, in which we are a proud platinum sponsor for 2024. Promoted as an afternoon of learning, connecting, and growing, the showcase featured business support providers, business workshops and inspirational speakers. Talking to a room of over 100 people, local Northern Territory success story, Ikuntji Artists from Haasts Bluff (3 hours from Alice Springs) shared their inspiring story of using art and fashion to share their culture to Australia and the world. Led by local MC Dale McIver, attendees heard from Cathy on her training routines, the stresses from the Sydney Olympic games opening ceremony and the cauldron that didn’t light, and the primary school teacher that got Cathy out on the track.
