Some welcome news for WA’s tourism and hospitality sector from Crown Perth today: it plans to expand its food and beverage operations in 2026 with a new high-end dining precinct and bars, catering to increased visitor demand. Crown aims to diversify its offerings, enhancing family-friendly and upscale dining experiences while solidifying its role as a key hospitality destination in Perth. While the Burswood complex is already Western Australia’s largest single-site employer, the expansion also brings positive news for job growth in the region. We look forward to seeing how these developments will progress… https://lnkd.in/gRSHU56D

Anyone think of buying a REIT called Chatham Lodging Trust (CLDT), I’d recommend passing. They aren’t paying close attention to their holdings. Wildly careless. For example one of their 38 Hotels, the Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn in Portsmouth, NH, is not being managed well. Problems with locks all over the property, they haven’t had VODKA and TEQUILA for weeks in their restaurant and bar because the Office Manager and General Manager won’t order it and they have Hilton issued stickers on things with the features not working. The General Manager leaves at 3pm daily and he knows daily there’s no vodka and tequila among other basic bar items. The bar tenders are telling dozens of people daily no to basic drinks on the menu. This is a publicly traded REIT, so the shareholders should know the General Manager is allowing these things to just be. How much is it costing the hotel daily and in return guests? Whocares right? This REIT is down 1D, 5D, 1M, 6M, YTD and 5Y. With their consistent slide since creation, it’s amazing such basic things would be ignored daily. If the individual at CLDT that’s overseeing all the General Managers is allowing this to slide everywhere, it’s costing shareholders millions. Furniture is approaching unsitely in areas as well. Hilton corporate defintelt wouldn’t approve. I’m amazed the bar tenders don’t quit, no customers, no tips. The General Manager at the Portsmouth, NH Hilton Garden Inn is 100% careless and not on top of anything for this publicly traded REIT, according to the employees themselves that can’t go get things like vodka and tequila customers keep asking for daily. How do I know!? I live nearby and know these people! The entire staff is talking about these things all day everyday. #reit #stocks #stockstowatch #shareholder #hilton #newhampshire #hilton #hiltonhotels #hotels #hotel #propertymanagement #stockmarket

Pub sales hit $115m in two weeks for JLL with Chatswood Hotel deal Sydney’s exclusive Lower North Shore, Chatswood Hotel sold by JLL's Hotels & Hospitality Group experts Ben McDonald and Kate MacDonald taking total sales for the firm to $115m in the last fortnight alone. Whilst not identified, JLL have confirmed the purchaser to be a private local family with significant interests in the pub space. The incoming operational strategy is understood to centre on expanding the existing trading footprint and optimising the current offering including the introduction of a branded sports bar and all-weather beer garden area. The pub market is again displaying signs of why it features heavily in the minds and investment portfolios of alternative asset investors given the resilience of business cashflows backed by real estate ownership. Mr Ben McDonald noted, “As a firm, JLL’s national pubs platform has transacted in excess of $670m thus far in 2024 with momentum continuing to build into the back end of the year. We anticipate ongoing demand from established hoteliers mixed with opportunistic asset managers to be most active in the coming months as opportunities present themselves in both on and off market situations.” Read more on The Hotel Conversation > https://lnkd.in/g5yGFr2U Peter Harper Gillian Berardi John Musca Will Connolly Lachlan Persley Edward Browne Debbie Farrelly Nicola Raeburn Gareth Closter Tom Gleeson Mark Walsh Greg Jeloudev Nick MacFie Gus Moors Andrew Langsford Adam Bury Christian Tsalikis Nick Thompson #jll #jllhotels #jllaus #pubs #pub #pubnews #hotel #hotelnews #hotelinvestment #hotelier #hotelowners #hospitalitybusiness
