Think you need to go viral to grow your LinkedIn? Think again. 🤔 Forget about the follower count. It's the quality of engagement that matters the most. Better to have 5 people from your target audience, than 100 irrelevant ones. Here are 3 tips to help you: 1️⃣ 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 Identify 10 influential people with a similar audience and comment on their posts. When they see you multiple times, they will respond, giving you additional awareness. 2️⃣ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 Your content should provide value or solutions for your audience. I used to think hashtags were essential on LinkedIn until I realized: They can do more harm than good. There are 5 reasons why you shouldn't use hashtags on LinkedIn. (And why I stopped using them for my clients) And each has its own impact on your reach and engagement. 1. Dilutes Your Message + Makes your posts look cluttered and less professional. - Reduces the clarity of your main points, making your content less engaging. 2. An unpopular secret here on LinkedIn? Building up your account with a lot of likes and comments and followers isn't hard. It's just a matter of: → Consistent content → A shitload of engagement → And doing that for a long time That is a proven formula to build an audience. But who will your audience be? Most likely a bunch of other creators who are: → Creating consistent content → Doing a shitload of engagement → Planning to do that for a long time And to monetize that audience, you’ll probably end up selling services and products that help other people get a lot of likes, comments & followers. And that’s perfectly fine. Unless you’re here to build and grow a business selling services that aren’t LinkedIn related. In that case, you’ve got to get clear on: → Who your market is → What is the problem they have → What is the solution that I’m selling And build an audience around that. It won’t be as large of an audience. You may not get LinkedIn famous. But you’ll hit the business fundamentals. However, the question remains: Are LinkedIn followers really that important? 🔍 The answer: YES ✅ and NO ❌. On one hand, having a large number of followers can indicate credibility and influence. It shows that your content is resonating with people and they see value in what you have to offer. 📚 This can also lead to potential job opportunities 📝 or business partnerships 🤝 as your reach expands. However, simply having a high number of followers doesn't guarantee success.📉 Without engaged and relevant followers, your content may not reach the right audience or generate meaningful interactions. 🗣️ What truly matters is the quality of your followers and how they engage with your content. It's better to have a smaller number of highly engaged followers who are genuinely interested in what you have to say, rather than a large number of passive followers. So, while LinkedIn followers can certainly add value and boost your professional image, it's important to focus on building a targeted and engaged following.🎯 This can be achieved through creating valuable and relevant content, actively engaging with other users, and networking within your industry. My strategy when I had 0-2500 followers (The struggle period) → 7 posts per week → Crazy engagement and connection requests My Strategy when I had 2500-5000 followers (The growth phase) → 4-5 posts per week → Maintained regular engagement and connection growth My Strategy when I have 10,000+ followers (The growing phase) → 3 posts per week → Connections requests to only the target audience But why adjust the LinkedIn strategy? • Initially, frequent posting is essential to increase visibility and engagement • With a larger audience, quality becomes more important than quantity • As you grow, being selective with connections ensures that your network remains relevant and valuable PS.
