“I had multiple interactions with police officers and paramedics...and it definitely helps that they know what I am struggling with. I am unique like every other human,” shared Austin. What are the physiological differences in training firefighters versus police officers? While both professions require base level zone 2 , firefighters require it to a greater extent. What other differences exist? #firefighters #policeofficers #training #physiology #teamworkstactical

Why Police Must Improve Along with my friend and colleague, Noble Wray, we have co-authored what we believe to be a powerful op-ed on the state of policing in America (“A thousand annual deaths during police encounters are far too many!”) and what must be done to reduce these tragedies. Our working title was "If We Had To Do It Over Again." The idea behind the op-ed was to collaborate what we have learned about policing and share some recommended action steps with progressive police and community leaders…. 📍When you call or text 9-1-1, it is important to answer all the 9-1-1 call talker's questions. It is crucial to provide details about your emergency location, whether it's your address, the nearest intersection, or nearby landmarks. Knowing your location helps the 9-1-1 call talker obtain accurate information to ensure immediate assistance from police, fire, or medical responders. 📱Call or text 9-1-1 ONLY if you have a life-threatening emergency and need immediate assistance from police, fire, or medical responders. #911education #nonemergencynumber #ghc911 #emergency #harriscounty #fortbendcounty #911saveslives #callifyoucantextifyoucan #knowyourlocation #publiceducation #savealife

RSPNDR brings a compelling & innovative offering that I've not seen before addressing ALARM response, but heard about.....and ironically, I wrote/predicted that this type of security service offering we would see more of as "THE security industry will take over many Law Enforcement "duties", in the International Security Journal (ISJ) INFLUENCERS EDITION over the past few years! The #rspndr service seems to reduce LEO work demands (911 calls), otherwise making #LEO available for P1 calls of violent-crimes-in-progress, etc... and increases better response times to ALARMS based on real time proximity of security companies assets...let's call it a "Uber Security Response" solution! It's really interesting and is basically "security crowdsourcing" in response to crime in communities? I think it's an innovative approach, worthy of watching, given current status of "things" happening and not-happening in our society to PREVENT (crime prevention), STOP (intervention of crimes in progress) and RESPOND (after-the-fact, post investigation arrests), TO CRIME! Cool approach y'all are using Andrew Dunn....but I see it far extending beyond ALARMS based on a flexible model. Friends Of Chuck (FOC) #innovation #coolsecuritysolutions

9+ minute interview with the former Uvalde School District chief of police. It seems clear this man was not mentally prepared to respond to an active shooter situation. Tragically, he is not alone. The vast majority of law enforcement officers are not prepared to manage the stress and fear created in these situations. This limits their ability to recall training and solve problems because innovating thinking does not occur when the brain is focused on survival. Law of Police Active Shooter Response 1. Never wait for a posse. 2. Safety is not the most important thing. 3. Dying continues after shooting stops. 4. Move to contact.
