An undated photo of the #Rosneft-backed #Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex in the Russian Far East. Of interest in the photo are the five Arc 7 ice-class #LNG carriers built by the yard for the #ArcticLNG2 Project. Particularly noteworthy is the Arc 7 alongside the 'Aleksey Kosygin' (the lead Arc 7) in the foreground. That Arc 7 had not yet received its bow. The primary hull blocks for each of these #LNG carriers were assembled at #SamsungHeavyIndustries (#SHI) in South Korea. The blocks were then moved up to #Zvezda for final outfitting etc. All five Arc 7s have had their bows for some time now. So, this photo takes us back a while. None of these #LNG carriers has entered service yet, though the 'Aleksey Kosygin' is expected to commence sea trials imminently, having recently left the yard's dry dock following repainting and other work on its interior.
