🌟 Intention: Find Your North Star In our pursuit of fulfillment, we often mistake movement for progress. Yet I've learned that our path forward isn't about collecting achievements—it's about aligning our actions with our deepest intentions. When we anchor our journey in clear intention—whether it's fostering meaningful connections, creating lasting impact, or discovering our authentic selves—we naturally gravitate toward experiences that resonate with our core truth. It's less about controlling outcomes and more about cultivating the qualities we seek to embody. True transformation begins when we shift from chasing external markers to nurturing the internal compass that guides us forward. This journey has taught me that our future can expand far beyond what our thinking mind could imagine. What intention will you set today that moves you closer to your authentic path? When we think about post-traumatic growth, we often focus on personal healing—rebuilding our mental, physical, and emotional well-being. But an essential component of this journey is often overlooked: service to others. At Second Responder, we believe that by serving our community, we not only give back but also create space for our own healing. For first responders, veterans, and their families, engaging in meaningful work that benefits others can be a powerful catalyst for growth. It reconnects us with our purpose, strengthens our sense of identity, and fosters resilience. When we step outside of ourselves to help those around us, we discover that our experiences—no matter how difficult—can be a source of strength and inspiration. Service allows us to transform our pain into purpose, our struggles into strength, and our challenges into opportunities for connection. Through acts of service, we heal. Through community, we thrive. WE DID IT! H.R. 8371 passed the House, and let me tell you—this is not just a win; it’s a REVOLUTION for veterans, their families, and caregivers everywhere. For over a year, my fellow Elizabeth Dole Foundation Fellows and staff have been in the trenches fighting for this moment. We’ve poured our stories, our pain, and our unrelenting hope into every letter, every meeting, every single ounce of advocacy we could muster. This wasn’t luck. It wasn’t easy. It was us—standing up, speaking out, and refusing to let anyone ignore the reality of caregiving. We took the system head-on and said, “You will listen.” And yesterday, they did. I’m not just proud—I’m fired up. We fought through exhaustion, frustration, and the endless grind of trying to explain why caregivers matter. We didn’t just ask for change; we demanded it. And guess what? They couldn’t say no. But this is only the beginning. We’re charging straight into the Senate with the same energy, the same fire, and the same refusal to quit. Because when you’re fighting for families, for the invisible army holding up our veterans, quitting isn’t an option. To my EDF family: We are the proof that stories move mountains. That persistence shatters walls. That people like us—the ones who refuse to back down—are unstoppable. One step closer. LET’S GO! #HR8371 #DoleAct #MilitaryCaregivers #HiddenHeroes #Senate

🌟 "Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent." - Psalm 71:9 🌟 Wow! This verse is a powerful reminder of the dignity, care, and support we all deserve as we age. As our strength changes over time, a long-term care plan becomes essential. It’s not just about ensuring physical support; it’s about honoring our journey and providing the peace of mind that comes with knowing we’ll be cared for with respect and compassion. Long-term care planning allows us to prepare for the future so our loved ones aren’t burdened with uncertainty or difficult decisions. It ensures that when we need it most, the resources and guidance are in place to support us, giving us the ability to age with grace, comfort, and security. Have you thought about your long-term care plan? Let’s explore options that provide the assurance that you and your family will be supported, no matter what the future holds. #LongTermCareAwarenessMonth #Psalm71:9 #AgingWithDignity #PlanAhead #Veterans

You can transform into a completely different person tomorrow if you commit to the work, but facing yourself is often harder than facing the world. The truth is, the shadow monster of pain we imagine is often far smaller than it seems. Our habits are born from moments of intense emotion, action, and thought, cementing themselves in our minds if left unchecked. Healing requires breaking through that hardened shell, rewiring deeply ingrained patterns, and rebuilding a foundation for a better, more efficient life 🔗 Link to full conversation below 👇 https://lnkd.in/eZtb_3WN #revitalist #mentalhealth #22raw #mentalhealthawareness #changetheworld #veterans #healingjourney #mentalhealthmatters #healing #veteransupport

World is WAY too small!! Worked with Babs Chase at Heroes MAKE America and now she’s at the Elizabeth Dole Foundation working on the #CampaignForInclusiveCare and specifically, Face The Fight, serving our #veterans. The realities of veteran suicide are shocking. Through Face the Fight, Babs and team are working to break the stigma surrounding suicide in the military community by raising awareness and fostering real, open conversations around support and hope. The inclusive care initiative is focused on inclusive care across the VHA, organized into three phases: 1) Understand the challenges and opportunities within the VHA landscape. 2) Organize the response by forming a Solutions Team of VHA clinicians, caregivers, and system change experts to create a toolkit for addressing the changes necessary to achieve success. 3) Establish The Academy for Inclusive Care, a curriculum and learning management system for VHA providers. #veteranhealthcarejourney Operation Stand Down Tennessee Chris Lancia Eden Murrie Douglas Slakey, MD,MPH #healthsystemsscience Thomas F. Today we highlight another great speaker for our upcoming Inaugural Summit on Subconcussive Trauma and Brain Health May 16–17, Tampa, FL The Honorable Jarrid “Jay” Collins, Florida State Senator, District 14. Senator Collins is a highly-decorated Army Special Forces combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient with over two decades of service. As a husband, father, Green Beret, and non-profit leader with over 20 years of dedicated service, Senator Collins has seen firsthand that “leadership comes at a cost, and that cost is self-interest.” He knows that while career politicians are focused on pursuing their own ambitions, real leaders put their personal concerns last, finding real solutions to the problems facing the American people. Don't live like today is your last day. I heard this advice again, this time from a high school student giving her speech. I'm telling you now, this is terrible advice. The chaos the world would turn into would not be good. In fact, it might actually end up being the end of society. Here's better advice. Figure out your principles, passions, and purpose, then go full speed on delivering on that each day. You will continue to grow as a person and advance society at the same time. And if it did happen to be your last day, then you will hopefully leave the world in a better way than you entered. That's my mission! #veterans #injuryrehab #mentalhealth #mindsetcoach #mentalfitnesscoach #mentalfitness
