Optical See Through and Video See Through Displays are the two most common technologies used in Augmented Reality Headsets. OST display uses special optics like beam splitters to project computer-generated graphics directly onto the real world you're seeing through the transparent visor. Meanwhile, VST uses a small camera on the AR device to capture a live video feed of the real world. The video is then processed, and virtual elements are superimposed onto that video feed before being displayed on a small screen within the device. Both technologies have their own Pros and Cons in terms of cost and quality. But as technology gets better, both of these offer promising use cases in the future AR Devices.
