I visited our Amsterdam and London offices at Klue last week. For other leaders that have growing offices in different geos, a couple reasons why you need to visit more frequently 👇 - Provide more clarity on decision-making. There's only so much context you can provide virtually on strategic decisions. Getting to sit down with folks on product direction is valuable to share the deeper 'why' behind these decisions. - Build connection as one team. These offices are a start-up within a start-up, but ultimately you're building one business with a common goal. Having brief 'water cooler' moments + social gatherings goes a long way. - Appreciate the cultural differences in the region you're doing business in. I went to VivaTech in Paris and couldn't believe just how different it was to typical US conferences. What stood out was the variety of languages spoken for one - it helps you realize the importance of multilingual NLP may be for our product in EMEA. -- It felt like stepping in a time machine in the London and Amsterdam offices; like I was back in the early Vancouver HQ days a decade ago. Blown away by these lean team with a big mission and the entrepreneurial spirit to get it done.
