yday was 4 years since PG officially kicked off .. got a bit overexcited (and then underwhelmed) by the footy, so forgot all about our bday 🤪 when a new year passes, people like to set their intentions .. so mine for POT GANG the year (or 6 months) ahead are: 🦁 refreshing our branding everything across our boxes, guides, website etc has been done by me and my boy Theo .. which has made everything v homemade and fun .. but now's time to level up into a visual identity which keeps the good bits .. but is more impactful, consistent, with better style and confidence .. a stronger reflection of our personality 🦁 widening our range of boxes our monthly subscription is the bedrock of the biz .. but our subscribers want more, so we'll be offering additional boxes outside on top of the monthly ones .. one-off boxes for bigger veg (think sweetcorn, broccoli, asparagus etc), themed limited editions (think grow-your-own christmas dinner, halloween pumpkins, january detox etc) and fruit bush/tree starter packs (think raspberries, blackberries, rhubarb, cherries etc) 🦁 building a content engine as our focus is getting people growing-their-own (through our boxes), we've focused our resources on selling our boxes and getting the biz off the ground - rather than creating tip top content .. but I want to a) enhance the subscription experience, b) create an organic engine for new people discovering us (and hopefully subscribing), through long-term partnerships with gardening / cooking creators using our boxes fully focused on nailing these three things .. much more to come on all this 🙃 keep on keeping on 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏽♀️

🍃 Strategy Sunday: The Lessons I Learnt From My Fruiting Guava Tree🍃 Happy Sunday, everyone! I am delighted to share an update from my garden: my guava tree is fruiting again, second time this year and as usual, the fruits are nice and jumbo-sized! This got me thinking about the parallels between nurturing a tree and developing effective speaking skills. ✔️Consistency in Care: Just as my guava tree requires consistent care —watering, pruning, and protecting from pests (including humans😮) — our speaking skills need regular practice and refinement. Consistent effort leads to fruitful results. ✔️Patience Pays Off Growing a tree to the point of bearing large, delicious fruits takes time and patience. Similarly, becoming a confident and effective speaker doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a gradual process, but the rewards are worth the wait. ✔️Adapt and Thrive: Trees adapt to their environment, finding the best way to thrive despite challenges. As speakers, we must be adaptable, learning to engage different audiences and handling unexpected situations with grace. ✔️Reap the Rewards: Seeing the jumbo-sized guavas reminds me of the satisfaction that comes from hard work. ✔️When you invest time and effort into improving your speaking skills, the rewards— whether it’s captivating an audience or landing a big opportunity—are incredibly satisfying. ----------------------------------------------- So, take a leaf from my guava tree and nurture your skills, be patient, adapt, and enjoy the fruits of your labour. ------------------------------------------------- Here’s a toast to you for a fruitful week #StrategySunday #PublicSpeaking #GrowthMindset #EffectiveCommunication #GardeningLessons --------------------------------------- Seeing my post for the first time? I'm Olusola Sowemimo. If you can't speak with confidence, you are leaving a lot on the table. Speaking will transform your career and earn you more money. Send a direct message today to work with me

Did you know that honeybees are born with baskets on their legs? Not the a-tisket, a-tasket kind or Yogi Bear version, but there's an area on the female bee (aka, the worker bee) that allows them to store large amounts of collected pollen. It's found on the tibia and it's glorious. The worker bee collects pollen by licking their front legs, and though it appears they're lathering themselves up in bee saliva, they're really gathering all of the pollen that is on their body. They take that pollen spitball and pack it into their pollen baskets on their back legs. They do this many times resulting in two large bundles of fresh pollen for the hive. If they can make it back to the hive before a bird eats them or a windshield memorializes them, then the pollen will be stored in the hive and converted into bee bread. I'd explain how bee bread is made and what it's used for, but that might push me into average beekeeper territory! Ask me anything about beekeeping (except about bee bread). Even if I don't know, I'll make my answer sound believable. (Sun Fact: Dandelions produce a lot of usable pollen for bees. If you're pro-bee, then you need to ignore your neighbors and their Dandelion whine!) #beekeeping #pollen #heybooboo

Stay hydrated: Ensure you have plenty of fresh water for both you and your furry companion. Fun and games: Don't forget to bring a ball or frisbee to keep your dog entertained. Shade and comfort: Pack a blanket and find a shady spot to keep everyone cool and comfortable. Clean up: Always carry waste and poo bags to keep the picnic area clean for everyone. Every fruit has its day.. The picture below comes from a time when neither dating apps nor Avocados were popular.. Enter Mr. Ripe Guy, a squishy, scaly, human-turned-avocado mascot and brainchild of the team at powerhouse PR agency Hill & Knowlton. The idea was from a marketing standpoint, to humanise the fruit, so people felt more comfortable.. From humble beginnings, the green nutty fruit has seen an almost 5x rise in consumption across USA from 436M pounds in 1985 to 2240M pounds in 2015 riding on the healthy bandwagon.(Source: Statista) #viralmarketing #avocados
