That’s why our events squeeze the most out of the learning time you have with us. Great energy and hosting.’ 💬 ‘All of the content was very interesting and relevant.’ 💬 ‘The speakers were very good: concise, great stories, packed a lot into a short amount of time.’ 💬 ‘I will build some of the ideas and inspiration it gave me into my practice’ To recap, we enjoyed talks from Jo Wright, Katharine St John-Brooks, Rebecca Liljendahl and Victoria Tomlinson FRSA, who shared their experiences, stories and insights on the changing role of internal coaching, as well as a silent coaching exercise led by Rebecca on breaking and building habits. If you attended the event, we’d love to hear what you thought. If you’re thinking about joining the Internal Coach Network to access more events like this one, DM us. Co-coaching with other members of Association for Coaching (AC) recently was such a valuable reminder of the magic of coaching. Before the online session, where coaches of varying levels of experience, swap roles as coach and coachee, I noticed the usual negative inner chatter - I'll embarrass myself, freeze or dry up, make a mistake that leaves me feeling stupid. I can see those as unhelpful and mostly untruthful thoughts but I'm interested to see how easily they pop up, especially when I'm straying out of my comfort zone. Co-coaching is a safe place of active listening and insightful questions and the forum I was part of reminded me of how powerful it is when I can speak aloud thoughts that might otherwise stay on loop. I could see more clearly, make decisions and move on with a greater sense of agency over a tricky situation. I felt heard and supported and also heard myself and renewed trust in myself. Brilliant feedback from a current client reinforced the faith I have in the process, which they described as "an in-depth conversation with an intelligent listener asking really great questions that help keep me accountable. It's a chance to focus on one's concerns really deeply." To conclude, they said, "It's hard to find that anywhere else" - and I'll second that! #coaching #cocoaching #coachingstudents #coachingforpostgraduates #coachingforchange

It's a paradox that the most important skill a top-level coach needs to develop is simultaneously simple and difficult both at the same time. Of course, I am talking about LISTENING. We've all heard the truisms (and they are, for the most part, true!): 👉 Most people don't listen to understand; they listen to reply. Too often, we are merely waiting for our turn to speak, crafting our responses instead of genuinely absorbing what the other person is saying. This habit can lead to misunderstandings and missed opportunities for deeper connection and insight. 👉 Often, people are just waiting for us to take a breath so they can jump in. In our fast-paced world, silence can feel uncomfortable. But it is in those moments of silence that real listening happens. As coaches, we need to embrace the pauses, allowing our clients to fully express their thoughts and emotions without feeling rushed or interrupted. 👉Why Listening Matters Effective listening goes beyond just hearing words. It involves being fully present and engaged, showing empathy, and understanding the underlying emotions and motivations behind what is being said. When coaches master the art of listening, they build stronger relationships with their clients, foster trust, and create a safe space for open and honest communication. 👉Which is Why Our Coach Training really prepares you to be an active, conscious, engaged listener. We take you deep into the four levels of listening, so that you are able to truly become a top level coach. Remember, the best coaches are not just great talkers—they are exceptional listeners! We'll teach you how to develop the skill to deeply and authentically. By doing so, we not only enhance our coaching practice but also enrich the lives of those we coach. If you have been thinking about becoming a coach, then join us for our next Core Coach Certification program live in Dallas in October. Coaching is both an art and a science. Achieving mastery isn't just about accumulating knowledge or honing technical skills; it's equally about nurturing a deep sense of empathy. Expertise gives us the tools and techniques to guide our clients effectively. This foundation allows us to understand various scenarios and apply the right strategies. Without empathy, however, our expertise can become rigid and disconnected from the real needs of those we seek to help. On the other hand, empathy connects us with our clients on a human level. It enables us to understand their experiences, fears, and aspirations genuinely. This understanding is crucial in creating a safe and supportive space where clients can open up, explore, and grow. The true skill of a masterful coach lies in blending these two elements – expertise and empathy – in a way that complements and enhances each other. It's about using our knowledge compassionately and connecting with our clients knowledgeably. Let's strive for this balance as we continue to develop our coaching practices. Let's cultivate an environment where our clients feel guided by our expertise and understood through empathy. #CoachingMastery #EmpatheticCoaching #ProfessionalDevelopment #CoachingSkills #BalancedApproach

The beauty of coaching isn't just about reaching solutions. It's about creating an environment where people feel safe enough to explore their thoughts. Three different clients → Three different cities → One common thread. This week brought moments that touched my heart deeply as a coach. It wasn't about breakthrough strategies or revolutionary solutions. Instead, it was something more fundamental: The words they shared made me pause and reflect. "It is always such a pleasure to talk to you. You provide me with a safe listening space." "I haven't opened up so much to anyone in months than I have with you during this one session." "What I like about our coaching interactions is your flexible approach, you listen without insisting." These words reminded me why I chose this path. What makes coaching truly transformative? ✨ Creating Safe Spaces We all need a place where we can be vulnerable without judgment ✨ Active Listening Solutions emerge simply because someone truly listened ✨ Meet Others Where They Are You cannot solve others’ problems but can guide them to discover their solutions ✨ Tailored Approach Every person's journey is unique - there's no one-size-fits-all in coaching The beauty of coaching isn't just about reaching solutions. It's about creating an environment where people feel safe enough to explore their thoughts. The real magic of coaching happens when: - Trust is established - Judgment is suspended - Flexibility becomes the norm To all coaches out there: The best solution is simply being present. The most impactful moments come not from what we say, but from how we listen. What matters most to you when seeking support? I'd love to hear your thoughts. #coachingjourney #transformativecoaching #activelistening #safespaces #careergrowth #empathyincoaching #clientconnections #mindfullistening #careerdevelopment #personalgrowth #humanconnection #authenticcoaching #trustincoaching #empoweryourself #smitadasjain #smitadjain
