To everyone guiding CSR funds, donations, and grants: Let’s think about where we start. Gender violence isn’t just an issue to be solved; it’s the foundation upon which all positive social change rests. Without addressing it first, our investments in education, health, and economic empowerment will never reach their full potential. Trauma from violence hinders progress in every area of life. It’s not just a line item; it’s the basis for meaningful, lasting impact. If we want real change, this is where we begin. Join us in placing gender violence prevention at the forefront of social impact. Sakshi Smita Bharti Michelle Liliyan Harry Dr.Aditi Kishore Ramya Nisal Deepak Gujrati

As Founding Director of Annamila First Nations Foundation, Julie Kantor AO is passionate about redefining philanthropy through First Nations-led giving, committing to a majority Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation on the board and with a goal for the foundation “to carry on its work in perpetuity”. Belinda Duarte AM, a Wotjobaluk and Dja Dja Wurrung woman and Co-Chair of Annamila, shares a belief in the importance of modelling how to do things differently and empowering long-term, community-led solutions. “There's nothing more powerful than being authentically what you want to see in your world,” she tells She Gives. “The sector cannot be what they cannot see.” Read their story: https://lnkd.in/gVA6hcX9 #SheGives #WomeninPhilanthropy

Forty-one percent of Americans say they would not continue giving to a charity if they learned that it tolerates discrimination against the people it serves, and 34 percent would not give to charities that use culturally insensitive images and language, according to a new survey supervised by the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance. Seventeen percent would stop giving to a charity if they learned its board was not diverse. Despite waves of activism like the #metoo moment, women continue to suffer from gender based violence worldwide. Be it gender apartheid in Afghanistan or horrific attacks in Calcutta, the challenges women face are not bound by geography or socioeconomics. In fact, one need not look farther than home. Canada is no different and women’s rights have been diminishing following suit from our neighbors in the south. Anti-abortion centers exist here in Toronto masked as “support” centers for pregnant women and we have politicians/ law makers actively working to support them. Toronto Rape Crisis Centre (TRCC) aims to provide anti-oppressive, feminist peer support to survivors of sexual violence, of all genders and identities, through counselling, group support, education, advocacy, and activism. The existence of organizations like the TRCC is a testament to the long-standing need for support services in the face of violence against women. TRCC was established in 1974 ….and I envision a future where we no longer need an organization like TRCC in my lifetime. When women are safe, our children are safe. When children are safe, society is safe. Please take a moment to share/donate if possible. All support is appreciated … and a little goes a long way (even $10) within the non-profit/charity sector. Thank you ! #trcc #womensrights #canada #digitalsafety

Transparent Presence builds confidence and improves well-being for gender diverse people. They were established by Elliot and Annie Kenton after Elliot’s social transition revealed a lack of support in Cornwall for transgender and non-binary people and their families. With gender diverse people waiting seven years for a gender clinic appointment, Transparent Presence’s support is crucial, helping people deal with gender dysphoria and social isolation. NHS Cornwall want them to deliver gender diversity training, but lack of course accreditation and capacity means they can’t. Transparent Presence will use our funding to gain accreditation and roll out training to the NHS and beyond, creating a self-sustaining income stream to catapult impact and expand support services to include a counselling arm.
