What a night! We loved watching the Eurovision semifinals, and we can't wait to see the grand final tomorrow! What's your treasured song so far? We don't know about you, but we've been 'Europapa-ing' non-stop in the past weeks! 😎 What's our favorite thing about this year's Eurovision? The marvelous stage. Did you know that the stage has more than 2 thousand lighting fixtures and LED screens mounted pretty much everywhere? 💡 How do you pull this off? Well, you need a well-coordinated team. Even if you find all the necessary equipment to create the environment (which was a huge challenge in itself), you still need to coordinate the logistics behind the production. For this week's spotlight, let's look at one of our valued Swedish customers, Upbrand Emotions. 🇸🇪 They've been customers of Rentman since 2019, and if they got the chance to work on Eurovision, you bet that they've been part of some cool projects already! Thomas, the man behind the company, has been directly hired by the Swedish Broadcasting association (SVT) to support Erik Blomdahl as a site manager for the Arena, coordinating the Load In, Load Out and general logistics for the event. He was also the Draftsman for the Delegation area. That's a lot of responsibility, especially considering that more than 150 million people are expected to tune in and watch the show. One thing is for certain, all our customers are amazing! This is happening now, a fantastic line-up of really interesting panel discussions and talks. I am not a futurist, but I was really captivated by the panel discussion entitled "Concepts of Time: How Do They Shape Our Future?" The panelists were amazing and so was the moderator. For me, this was a timely reminder of the importance of imagination and futures thinking in exploring what is possible and what is desirable (perhaps even fearful), and not necessarily immediate. I came across the notion of futures literacy in 2020, when I was preparing for a job interview. I then got the job and wrote a chapter trying to apply this notion to language education. With the current tech advancements, I believe it is even more important now to move beyond teaching language as a tool for successful employment or academic communication. It's time to create more room in our curricula for literature and storytelling, strengthening imagination, empathy and openness to the unknown. #DubaiFutureForum #FuturesLiteracy #LanguageEducation

The Eurovision Song Contest is known for its glitz and glam, but this year, Malmö 2024 is taking things to a whole new level with a stage that's a tech marvel! Here's why this is a must-see: ➡️ Centralized Stage & 360° Experience: Forget traditional setups! This year's stage is in the middle of the audience, shaped like a cross. ➡️ Lights that you'll never forget: The stage has more than 2 thousand lighting fixtures, with more than 4 weeks of pre-programming behind. ➡️ LED Extravaganza: With more than 1 thousand square meters of LED screens and movable LED cubes, the show is about to be a feast for the eyes! ➡️ Formula 1 speed: A 'small crew' of 36 people managed by 6 stage managers will have to change the stage 37 times within just 55 seconds each time. The creativity and technical expertise behind Eurovision 2024 are truly inspiring, and we can't wait to watch the show.
