Hey everyone, Excited to share that my Spotify clone is now responsive! 🎉 I also made some changes to the play bar to improve its look, and now it’s much better than before. That’s it for today, but I’ll keep sharing updates as I go. Check out my project here: https://lnkd.in/g-3j-M9q #WebDevelopment #ResponsiveDesign #SpotifyClone #spotify

I love Backstage from Spotify But I feel that people are given a fantastic tool, but not guidance on how to use it. We’ve had platform engineering for a couple of years now, and now the new hype is Developer Experience. This is where Backstage is the go-to platform. But, we keep on making the same mistakes again and again in our industry. Do you have a strategy for your backstage offering ? Who is your target audience? What do they NEED ? Do they need a Flux plugin ? Do they need a Kubernetes plugin ? NO. They need to create products, ensure they are ok and release new features. It needs to be developer centric. You need to understand their domain, needs, problems and concerns and then think about how you can ease or provide help with Backstage. Make the responsibility clear on both the developer and platform side. Who is responsible for what ? What signals do they need to react to the things they are responsible for ? Anything more then that is noise. Confusion. Build a Backstage platform your developers need, not the one you need.

Creating Ads That Hit Home. If you’re anything like me, music is everywhere in your life. Spotify knows this, and their “Let the Song Play” commercial does the best job of making us feel how music elevates and transcends moments and emotions in under 90 seconds. Here’s how: Hooks you in hard: It all starts with a song that basically everyone knows. Then we see the driver lock the door on a valet—weird, right? Exactly what they want—you’re in for the ride now. Relatability & familiarity: One song with five different talents. This ad speaks to everyone, and we can all see a version of ourselves in it. Subtle product placement: There’s no heavy selling—Spotify’s presence is felt in the background, letting the emotional connection take the lead. We already know it’s there to keep the music going. All the feels: Nostalgia, peace, humour, and everything else in between, this ad brings all the feels and resonates deeply. We’ve all had those moments where music captures exactly how we feel. This ad is why Spotify is more than a music app—it’s the soundtrack of our lives. Ads like this show why storytelling is key. Creating something that sticks with your audience is what we aim for with every project. What do you think? What other ads have pulled you in like this? Bootleg Sped-Up Remixes on TikTok - Managers & Producers - what are your thoughts?! 1. These sped-up remixes are made by amature producers, most of the time in their bedrooms, and they are creating some of the most-used songs on the app. It definitely creates viral moments, but they aren't monetized. 2. Tech-apps are responding: AudioMack & Spotify are both seeing this trend and are creating remixing tools for fans to use. Hook is using this tech to monetize fan-made remixes. Do these remixes need to be tracked or legitimized in order to not be taken down? Is the product not copy-write infringement? OR are labels happy because it makes an increase in search for the song and prompts viral moments, and therefore increased engagement on the record? Let me know what you think of this! #tiktok #remixes #bootlegremixes #spedupversions

Fun quick 4 min read! Try it out, some curiosities in there.
It’s a wrap! It’s that time of year when Spotify drops 2024 Wrapped, and you find out you binge-listened to Taylor Swift for the 3rd year in a row (top .05% of listeners. Not bad 😉). Instead of sharing our top artists (we’ll spare you the cringe) we’re delivering our own spin on Spotify Wrapped, with the best highlights in SaaS for 2024. Encountered confirm shaming while trying to cancel Spotify Premium? Dark patterns are tricks used in website and app design to manipulate users into doing things they might not otherwise do. Confirm shaming is a specific type of dark pattern that uses guilt to influence your decision. In this case, Spotify's cancellation confirmation screen tries to guilt you out of quitting by saying "It's hard to say goodbye." What can you do? Be aware of dark patterns and don't be afraid to take a step back before clicking "Go back." If you're truly set on cancelling, Spotify can't stop you! #Spotify #UXCollective #DarkPatterns #uxdesign #productdesign
