For anyone who has not yet voted, please vote for Clean Water. The VoteWater organization has a database (https://lnkd.in/eE2EdJaa) with which candidate is sponsored by which polluters. They also have a list of candidates that don't take money from polluters and are friends to clean water. https://lnkd.in/e5d_DW6q As VoteWater summarizes: (the following is a quote) HOW BIG A ROLE HAS ‘DIRTY MONEY’ PLAYED IN THIS ELECTION?: Since Sept. 1, the sugar industry has spent more than $2.5 million on political giving at the state level alone; Florida’s biggest utilities (NextEra, Duke Energy and TECO) have collectively spent more than $3 million on political giving. Some of the biggest “polluter PACs” — the Florida Chamber of Commerce PAC and its affiliates, the Voice of Florida Business PAC and the Associated Industries of Florida PAC and its affiliates — have collectively given some $1.7 million. All this in just two months. THE BOTTOM LINE: In a year dominated by concerns about abortion and other cultural issues, clean water was not a major campaign theme. That means, most likely, more of the same dynamic we’ve seen in recent years. The state will throw money at solutions like septic-to-sewer and Everglades restoration (good!) while legislators continue to introduce new bills that will harm our waters (bad!). At the local level development will continue to escalate, leading to a loss of wetlands and other bad outcomes. Dirty money will continue getting what it wants unless we push back, which we must — for the next water-related crisis in Florida is perpetually just around the corner. IF YOU CAN'T WIN LEGITIMATELY, SUBVERT THE VOTER True the Vote is a rightwing organization that trains people to challenge eligibility of people to vote. One "trained" person has submitted more than 2,000 challenges. How could this person know enough about 2,000 people to know whether they are eligible to vote? The idea is to remove as many people who might vote Democrat from the voter rolls as possible. True the Vote is a believer organization, that is, it believes the 2020 election lies that Republicans spout. A good samaritan should help True the Vote by challenging the eligibility of the founders, organizers, and staff of True the Vote to vote. https://lnkd.in/eWVtYUKe

In 1845, the United States Congress passed a law designating the first Tuesday in November as Election Day, and here we are, 179 years later, heading to the polls once again to shape our country's future.
