Wounds are vulnerable to infection, which can slow down the healing process and cause further complications. Prevention is key! Here are a few tips to help you prevent infection: - Clean wounds with non-medicated liquid soap and warm water to remove dirt before dressing them for the first time. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. - Always wash your hands before touching a wound or changing dressings. - Cover wounds with clean, breathable dressings to protect them from dirt and bacteria. Change dressings regularly, especially if they get wet or dirty. - Avoid touching your wound unnecessarily, as this can introduce germs and increase the risk of infection. How to spot an infected wound? 1. Redness & swelling are normal in a wound to start, but if they go on too long or get worse, this could indicate infection. 2. Increased pain around the wound can be a red flag. 3. Pus (cloudy white, yellow, or green discharge) is a clear sign of infection. Don't wait, if you notice any signs of infection, see your doctor promptly. Early intervention is key to a smooth recovery. #Trifectiv #TrifectivPlus #WoundCareSimplified #woundcare #woundinfection #prevention #healthcare #stayhealthy
