💡 The International Crisis Group has released its "10 Conflicts to Watch in 2025" report, highlighting key areas of concern for the coming year. 🧨 The report emphasizes that most of today's wars are expected to continue into 2025, with the potential for new conflicts to emerge in the coming months. It also underscores the importance of proactive engagement and diplomacy in addressing these conflicts. As global tensions rise, the need for effective conflict resolution strategies becomes increasingly critical. 💡 Staying informed and engaged is essential as we navigate these complex challenges in the year ahead. That is particularly true for the knock-on impacts that any of these (and other) conflicts could have in sometimes very unexpected areas. #security #geopolitics #war

Last week I had the pleasure to participate as a speaker to the X Department of Political Science Conference organized by Università degli Studi di Teramo. I dealt with the topic of the inclusion of women in mediation processes and peace operations, focusing on the concept of "Intercultural diplomacy" proposed by Fabrizio Lobasso. The conference was about War and Peace; our panel was really enriching and made me reflect about some significant topics: - the importance of the prohibition of the use of force and the various implications it has in conflicts nowadays - the concept of foreign fighter - the notion of the hybrid war and the importance of new models of cybersecurity. It is really meaningful to reflect on these topics collectively, in order to find a common solutions and propose a pathway to follow. #war #peace #security

💡 What does consensus mean at the OSCE? It means every official decision at the OSCE is taken through agreement by all 57 participating States. This principle ensures: ✅ Equal say for all members. ✅ Inclusive, co-operative solutions. ✅ Stronger unity in action. 📅 See consensus in action at the OSCE Ministerial Council on 5-6 December where ministers take decisions that drive diplomacy and build trust for stronger global security. #OSCEMC2024

📊 Earlier this month, we had the privilege of presenting at the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA). Katya Jalliffier, IEP Deputy Director for Europe and MENA, shared key insights from the 2024 Global Peace Index and the Positive Peace Index. The session concluded with an insightful Q&A exploring how the findings can be applied to enhance peace efforts in Central Asia.
