🎙️ Spotlight on Senior Assisted Solutions with Marc Friedlander 🎙️ I had the pleasure of interviewing Marc Friedlander on my radio show to discuss the incredible work he’s doing with Senior Assisted Solutions. Many people have the misconception that choosing an independent living community means giving up an active social life. But as Marc explains, the reality is often the opposite. Independent living can offer more opportunities for your loved ones to stay engaged, active, and connected than they might have living alone. This is such an important topic because, at some point, we will all either know someone who needs this type of service or eventually need it ourselves. Marc’s dedication to improving the quality of life for seniors is truly inspiring, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share his message. #thegirardrealestategroup #tracygirard #girardgroup #communityspotlight #radiointerview #seniorassistedliving

Community Engagement 💙 What an absolute love of mine. I often tell people that I practice "old school" engagement--that good ole fashion grassroot "stuff." When I conduct presentations or engage community partners and community members in dialogue, I put humanity first. I generously apply the core principles of Public Health which uplift and empower community. Whom ever I engage, I speak to them like they are my sister, brother, grandmother, or friend. I give us both the space to be ourselves. My form of practiced engagement is the art of sharing space and the human experience. Laughs, smiles, heard, and seen, these are the outcomes I strive for. Today, I conducted a presentation that reminded me of my strength and my family's tenacious origin. I stood in my power and served my community. For me, as a community engagement consultant, one of the most rewarding experiences is the thunderous applause after a presentation. Moments like today remind me why I love community. We, as a community, are stronger than we know. #communityminded #upwardjournery

https://lnkd.in/evYQavtK As a member of the International Association for Community Development (IACD), I tried to draw insights from the International Standards for Community Development Practice to conceptualise compassionate community development. Also, the international standards pinpoint that community development is a set of robust practices from putting value into practice, engaging the community, learning for change, to improving policies and services. in the course, the practitioners have an important role in ensuring meaningful participation. Community development is definitely not only connecting some community gatekeepers and having social networking meetings (social networking =/= useful social network), but also thinking about how to develop the community capacity.
