Teamwork is about showing up for your team mates in a time of need. A few years back, when a senior team lead decided to leave the team to pursue her personal interests, I was worried about the resource gap in a particular portfolio. When I spoke to the team, I was pleasantly surprised that a few team members stepped forward to offer their support. We debated and agreed to re-organize the work streams and re-distribute the demands of such portfolio. It was a relief for me and I was very appreciative of the team efforts. I have been building and integrating legal teams in OCBC for more than 10 years. The best part of my role is creating an environment where team members look out for one another and thrive and grow together. Each team member has his/her own unique experience, skillsets and abilities. We value each team member for bringing their different perspectives to the table as we huddle over different issues. Being in a team is also about celebrating wins together. Relationships are best forged when we overcome challenges together and come together to recognize the achievements. What does teamwork mean to you? Photos below : Taken with the different teams in OCBC Group I work with. #ocbc #teamwork #peoplematter #growingtogether #thriving

Today’s Empower Program workshop with HSBC Korea was truly inspiring! We had an incredible lineup of speakers and sessions that left us all energized and motivated. We kicked off with a warm welcome from #HSBC Korea CEO, EY Jung. Tamara G’s session on personal branding was a standout, offering invaluable insights that resonated with everyone. Jin Choi provided an insightful outlook on 2024 Korea and global business, and Bonnie Qiu 邱怡静 shared her successful career journey. A special highlight was the trading room tour led by Hye-Ran Seo, which was an unforgettable experience. Here are some key takeaways from the session: ✅Know, Build, and Market Your Brand: Reflect on what you enjoy, what you excel at, and seek feedback from others on your strengths. Then, align these with the value you can offer to your organization. ✅Bring Your Brand to the Market: If you don’t advocate for yourself, no one else will. Embrace opportunities and say yes whenever possible. ✅Embrace Innovation: Success comes from thinking differently and challenging your limits. ✅Leverage Experiences with Curiosity: Use the resources around you to empower yourself and seize opportunities. ✅Develop Your Unique Superpower: Your distinctive abilities can help overcome biases and set you apart. ✅Build Your Network: A strong network can provide resilience and support throughout your career journey. A huge thank you to all the speakers and organizers for such a transformative session. Looking forward to applying these insights and continuing this journey of growth and empowerment. #HSBC #EmpowerProgram #PersonalBranding #CareerGrowth #Innovation #Networking

✨How time flies, Isn’t it? Today, we celebrate Ecobank Transnational Incorporated 39th birthday! It’s hard to believe that I’ve already been part of this incredible adventure for 5 years, 1 month, and 16 days. Throughout our journey of positive contribution to the continent, I’ve learned so much in my communication journey. Here are a 5 key lessons I'd like to share: 1- Never neglect the employees: We say it all the time, but not enough. Communicators should put internal communication at the heart of their strategy. Just like in a shop, our colleagues are the company’s shop window. It’s not just an HR responsibility; each of us plays an important role in driving the Employee Experience. 2- Understand cultural differences: Navigating communication across 39 countries in Africa and beyond is complex. It’s essential to understand how people manage their relationship with power and to read between the lines to grasp what people are saying and what it actually means. This will help you adapt your communication style to both internal and external stakeholders. 3- Language can become your enemy: Communicating in four languages—French, English, Portuguese, and Spanish—is actually very interesting. As communicators, we must speak to people in the language they understand. Otherwise, we may be surprised by the outcomes of our communication and the potential negative perception we may create. 4- One strategy does not fit all: It’s important to understand your environment and adopt communication strategies based on the specific challenges that countries and regions face. It is important to have the same Big idea, but adapting your messages to your audience is critical. 5- Become friends with data: We often think communication is just about writing and speaking. It's not totally right, it's the tip of the iceberg. But before you do that, collect the right data to ensure your message is relevant to your audience. This data can come from employees feedback, social listening, business metrics and other sources. By being more strategic with data, you'll see the magic unfold. As I continue on this journey, I’m more excited every day. The learning experience is truly unique. With Ecobank's 40th anniversary in exactly just 1 year, I can't wait for more exciting things to come 😉 ! Happy birthday to us at Ecobank! #EcobankTurns39 #ABetterWay

“Back to basics”. That was the underlying theme of the recent McDonald’s Japan Convention I attended, and I think it has a powerful message for all of us. It was a fantastic event, I must say. 5,000 plus individuals gathered to explore the future of this global giant in the region, and there were some insightful discussions around the room. Their own “back to basics” strategy, focusing on their core strengths like great products, a vibrant culture, and a loyal customer base, was definitely the highlight for me. I think we can all agree it’s easy to be swayed by the newest trends or challenges. And yet, all too often, the simple, foundational elements of our operations are what truly drive success. At Welbilt, we pride ourselves on a similar foundation. Yes, we always have an eye on putting innovation on the table, but we never lose sight of the fundamentals that put us on the map. Those key elements that truly reflect our purpose, commitment to quality and simplicity, and connect us with our customers - that is ultimately what keeps our team dedicated and our clients loyal. As we prepare to celebrate Singapore National Day tomorrow, I felt this was an important message to share. Let’s embody this spirit of acknowledging and appreciating our roots. To honour our heritage and the fundamental values that have shaped this great nation. Happy National Day, Singapore! And to my Welbilt team, may we continue to deliver excellence. 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 Adding photos below from the Christmas tea we planned for the OCBC Global Markets Legal team. We spent some time celebrating the close of another financial year, reflecting on how team members have supported each other through the different challenges and projects. Someone asked if I ever lose sleep over any major project. I replied that I always had full confidence in our team - confidence that our team members would work together to overcome any challenge. 🍀 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨? 🍀 My strong belief is that teamwork and collaboration is the backbone of any successful organization. 🔸Teamwork boosts productivity Teamwork maximizes individual strengths. When team members give and receive support, they leverage each other’s expertise and knowledge, elevating the team’s overall problem-solving capabilities. 🔸Teamwork enhances innovation Collaboration fosters diverse perspectives and encourages creative ideas. When team members openly share insights, question assumptions and explore alternatives, they often co-create solutions that surpass individual capabilities. 🔸Teamwork strengthens relationships Teamwork builds mutual trust and respect among team members. When team members feel valued and supported, communication improves and the level of engagement and commitment increases. Photos of the Group Legal team members and the different Christmas trees we created. And a photo with our super team administrator, Pak Yieng, who ensures the smooth running of administrative tasks so we can better focus on supporting our respective business teams. What does teamwork mean for you ? #OCBC #legalteam #teamwork #diversity #peoplematter

🌟Assertive yet Kind. Not only Thrive but also Adaptive 🌟 We had the privilege of joining a coffee chat with our ASEAN SVP Vijayanand Sinha who shared invaluable insights from his extensive experience as a country manager and his journey with Reckitt. His words were not only inspiring but also deeply insightful. During our conversation, he highlighted the importance of being assertive yet kind. He emphasized that we should confidently share our opinions, backed by facts and evidence, while maintaining respect and empathy for others. This balance is crucial for fostering a positive and productive work environment. He also shared his belief that to thrive globally, especially in the diverse ASEAN market, adaptability is key. He encouraged us to step out of our comfort zones and be willing to work across different regions. This global mindset is essential for personal and professional growth. Reflecting on his journey, he said he joined Reckitt because it is agile, fast, and entrepreneurial - exactly what he was looking for. His advice to himself, if he could go back to his first day at Reckitt, was to embrace these qualities fully and practice assertive kindness every day. A special thank you to our GM Alpana Titus and HR director Jarunate Pintusan for organizing this insightful session. What resonated with me the most was his emphasis on cross-regional collaboration and adaptability. It's a powerful reminder that our growth isn't confined to our home country but extends across borders. This session has reinforced my commitment to being more adaptable and open to new challenges. Thanks again for this enriching experience. Let's continue to strive for excellence and kindness in everything we do! #Leadership #CareerGrowth #Adaptability #Reckitt #Inspiration

Appreciative. Reflective. Happy. For the 5th year running, my team partnered the good folks at Group HR to roll out the UOB Global Appreciation Month. Every year, I appreciate the Appreciation Month more - it is a Unique campaign built entirely on Heartware. The numbers that matter in that month are how many hearts we have touched, and who in turn are touching the hearts of their teammates and colleagues. I am fully behind this KPI in building the soft culture of the Bank and exercising the muscle of appreciation. Part of the campaign invites colleagues to reflect on a word, or two or three, when they think of appreciation. The responses are fantastic - from ice cream (yes, please!) to laugh to care, and more. Every answer is spot on and reflects the wide spectrum of feelings and visuals that appreciation sparks. One word resonates with me - teamwork. This Appreciation Month, I dedicate it to my team - Joanne Y. and Daryl Tan. Without them, there is no team. No team, no dream. As the wise saying goes, if you want to run fast, run alone. But if you want to run far, go together. I strive to run the distance - alongside my team. Happy Appreciation Month to all at UOB! #UOBAppreciationMonth
