The NCSA/Candy Hall of Fame has appointed two industry leaders to its board of directors. Stephen Casey, MBA, Melville Candy Co., and Stacey Rutherford, Burdette Beckmann Inc., bring their extensive experience to enhance the NCSA's leadership and will sit on the board for three-year terms. Additionally, the NCSA board of directors has selected its 2025 Executive Leadership Team: Chairman Shelly Clarey, Pres. Byard Ebling, VP and returning board member Audra Vogler, Ex-Officio Chairman Joseph Melville, Secretary Mary Beth Lane, and Treasurer Michael Sitarz. The following individuals will continue serving on the NCSA Board of Directors: Brent Cotten, The Hershey Company; Carol Gherlarducci with Adams & Brooks Inc.; Mike Gilroy with Mars Wrigley; Terri Hoggatt with Jelly Belly Candy Company; Peter Kempton Jr. with b.a. Express Wash Concepts names inaugural president Express Wash names first company president: Express Wash Concepts, which includes 103 express wash locations across Ohio, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Hampton Roads, Va., has appointed its first company president. Shawn Hummell, who has more than 20 years of retail leadership experience and worked most recently at Follett Higher Education, has been appointed EWC president and will oversee planning and implementation of the company’s strategy and future growth. "I stay connected with area professionals by utilizing a mix of networking events, online platforms like LinkedIn, and my participation on the Leadership Sarasota Council and Leadership Alumni Committee. I also engage in industry-specific associations, attend professional development programs, and foster relationships through informal meetings and community involvement to build a strong network of connections." What was the most impactful part about the Leadership Sarasota program? "The most impactful part of the program was getting to go behind the scenes and learning about how all of the different segments of the business community come together to advance the Sarasota community. This helped me to get a better understanding of how I can help to contribute to our community’s growth and prosperity by getting more involved." What’s the best piece of professional advice you have been given? "Solve a problem or go away. We are either helping people achieve their goals or solve their problems. That’s the mentality we need to have when we are conducting business."
