On Wednesday we presented our insights at a client event in London on over 1,000 CEOs in the broader Public, Education and Not for Profit sectors, gathered from our leadership development, succession and recruitment work over the last 3 years. This included behavioural data against our model of leadership excellence 'Altitude' and psychometric data (bright and dark side). We covered: 🔵 The overall strengths and risk areas for CEOs in the context of the challenges they face. 💡 Key Finding: nearly half of CEOs we shortlisted have no high risk dark side derailers, significantly less than that seen in the private sector. 🔵 Comparing the profiles of CEOs to Director level individuals 💡 Key Finding - CEOs outperform Directors, as one would hypothesise, on 8 of the 12 areas of behavioural excellence, as independently determined by our Occupational Psychologists. 🔵 The differences between successful versus shortlisted CEOs 💡 Key Finding - unsuccessful CEO candidates are more likely to display over confidence when under pressure, which can manifest as arrogance, a sense of entitlement and overplaying capability.
