Lecture series "#Microbes and #Materials" - #5 Effects of multiple concurrent global change drivers on soils and ecosystems by Prof. Dr. Matthias C. Rillig, Freie Universität Berlin, Department of Biology, Chemistry and Pharmacy, Berlin, Germany Thursday, 5th December 2024, 3 pm Location: Ludwig Erhard Saal, Unter den Eichen 87, Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung When performing experiments in the environmental sciences we typically only use one or two factors, and thus we know little about the effects of multiple, concurrently acting factors. This is true in particular for research on impacts of factors of global change. We have been asking a slightly different question, about the effects of the number of factors, using a novel experimental design imported from #biodiversity-#ecosystem function research. The talk will introduce some of the results of this work, shifting our focus to the role of multiple jointly acting factors also in general. https://lnkd.in/e4TUCFjX
