First signs of recovery in the German hotel investment market The hotel transaction volume in Q1 2024 totalled EUR 260 million—an increase of 30% compared to the previous year. While this is a good sign of hotel investment restarting, the increase was largely due to the sale of the 5-star hotel "Hotel de Rome" in Berlin. There were only five further hotel transactions above EUR 5 million. The activity is expected to pick up further in the second half of the year, with several notable deals in progress, underpinned by the narrowing gap between buyer and seller expectations and stabilizing interest rates.
