Bangladesh has taken a huge leap towards a more flexible telecom regime by implementing technology-neutral operating licenses. This means that telecom operators can now freely deploy any technology on their spectrum holdings, allowing them to adapt to evolving needs and deliver advanced services more efficiently. This move complements the “Technology Neutrality of Spectrum” introduced in 2018, providing a comprehensive framework for innovation and growth in the telecom sector. The technology-neutral license is expected to accelerate Nation’s journey towards a "Smart Bangladesh" and create a positive impact on the wider economy in terms of enhancing resource utilization efficiency and accelerating the adoption of IR4. Kudos to BTRC and the Telecom Ministry for taking this crucial step towards laying the foundation of a Smart Bangladesh.
