With a very challenged industry outlook the next 2-4 year (global oversupply, negative press on Alv consumption, etc.), #nolo is a refreshing addition to the wine portfolio. The more we embrace it, the better the technology with evolve and more positive overall influence for a conscientious generation. #nonalcoholic #nonalc #wineindustry #consulting #winemakersforum #techtalk4wine

Folks, here is a great company (BevZero) to work with if you are looking to develop and make Low and No Alcohol Beverages. I chat with Irem Eren WA, DipWSET over coffee in #London to see how the category is evolving in UK and other parts of the world. Wineries, if you are looking to add a new SKU and want some advise, do reach out to Renee Timmons Matthew Hughes or Irem Eren WA, DipWSET. They will be also part of the London Competitions and Beverage Trade Network's London judges reunion party as the main sponsor. Irem Eren WA, DipWSET will have a keynote of 15 minutes to top sommeliers and bartenders of London on how to introduce the category to grow on-trade sales to new consumers that are evolving in this space.

I love the industries we work with at Tap'in. There is something so bold, brave and disruptive about independent drinks producers and we love to support them on their mission. One area I am keen to learn more about is how we can best support wineries. After attending the #LondonWineFair, I feel I have a lot to learn about wine brands, producing countries and varieties (thank you again for the invite from Vinette Wine). I know how we support breweries like the back of my hand, but as we develop our bonded service, there are new clients we must learn to support, like wineries. One of the key benefits we offer, that I think benefits drinks producers no matter the beverage, is the space we give drinks producers to create rather than getting stuck organising the logistics of their operation. Having more time to focus on your drinks and less on the hassle of logistics is surely beneficial to any independent drinks producer! We handle both on-trade and online orders, so whether you have a spot in a venue yet or not, we can help your drinks get exactly where they're supposed to be. Who’s ready to raise a glass (or can!) to more selling and less worrying? Let's chat!

The Business of Beer Coming from the home of Guinness, a brand that is synonymous with Ireland, we Irish have an appreciation of beer being part of a national identity: think Heineken and Carlsberg as being associated with their home countries, also. But the brewing industry is much more complex than that, with major corporations holding a multitude of national and international brands. So where does a national brewery such as Bofferding fit? How does it compare with the many local and regional brewers in Germany, for example? Where does it sit vis a vis the craft beers and micro-breweries? What are the challenges - quality raw materials, water purity and distribution to name but a few? Join us for a presentation on this by Mathias Lentz, Director of Brasserie Nationale on 10th July, 2024 at 18.00 (Registration) to hear these topics addressed. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A which in turn will precede a tour of the brewery and beer tasting. Canapes will also be available. Registration Prior registration necessary by clicking on this link https://lnkd.in/ee9wFSbs Or by sending a mail to info@ilcc.lu

Had a great time at Northern Restaurant & Bar show in Manchester with our clients Black Sheep Brewery, BREAL Group and Global Brands Limited. Also saw some old friends including Alex Griem from the brilliant Broken Clock Vodka. Three things really grabbed my attention: 🍺 The quality and choice surrounding low and no, from 0.5% beers to the brilliant Everleaf Drinks | B Corp. Long gone are the days of diet coke or orange juice being the only options for those not drinking alcohol, with on trade consumers willing to pay A LOT for a hand-crafted 0% cocktail (sometimes at a similar price point to an alcoholic equivalent) 🥫 Premium canned cocktails/RTD were EVERYWHERE and have never been more creative or premium. 🍸 The rise and rise of Tequila as a spirits category, including some real innovation in the form of Global's TAKE Tequila NPD, which launched to the on trade at the show. Especially the Jalapeno flavour! And so much knowledge and passion from the exhibitors. Surely, no other sector can compete with the drink industry's brand stories?

Are Pubs Coming Back? Really? “The stickier the carpet the stickier the venue” Is how we might start looking at engagement, spend and linger time. Lately on our travels we’ve noticed a few venues drawing in the punters. What’s happening here given the contraction and closure of craft breweries over the last year? No surprise that we think that pub appeal is primarily food driven. Let’s face it. Good pubs have relied heavily on food for a long time now. Is the Glass Half Full or Half Empty? But there’s something else at play. We’re looking at what exactly this is to identify the common elements and find value for other non pub venues. The trifecta we’re punting on is food, nature of engagement, connection and value versus other options. It’s economics, It’s behavioural. It’s the vibe. Throw in retro nostalgia for The Feels (looking at you “ I feel like a Toohey’s”) Want to take it foda? There’s a lot more insight we would love to share with you. Ideally over a beer. Or non alcoholic beverage with a cocktail umbrella. Or by email to begin with. Which is far more professional.

"Maybe I don’t need to convince you that beer media is valuable; after all, you’re reading a beer website right now. But it’s worth taking a moment to appreciate how a strong and varied beer media benefits the industry... "Those hangers-on to the beer industry who publish and broadcast and post about beer and everything to do with it? Well, they make the beer industry stronger and more creative than it could ever be without them. Brewers make better beer. More people buy beer. And when we see each other’s humanity, I like to think we all treat each other a little better as a result, too." Plus, the people who won Best Media trophy at the AIBAs for the past 10 years share some cool insights into the beer scene - now, over the past ten years or so, and looking forward. Who'd have thunk that people who immerse themselves in the beer world and think and write and talk about beer would have good things to say?
It might not be as much fun as drinking a delicious beer, but beer media plays an important role in the ever-evolving beer world (we have to say that, right?). May's Melbourne Royal® Australian International Beer Awards will mark ten years of The Crafty Pint-sponsored Best Media trophy. So, before submissions for the 2024 awards close on Friday, current champ Mick Wust invited past winners to share their favourite stories, reflections on the industry, and the stories they'd love to read.

Great read from the viewpoint of media (writers, podcasters) on the beer industry. The answers to questions about surprising ways the industry has developed and what stories we should be talking more about are insightful, especially the comment about fresh beers. Cheers, The Crafty Pint!
