Single Malt Similar To Wine? If you love wine, you'll be surprised at the similarities it shares with single malt whisky. Here are three compelling reasons why wine enthusiasts should explore the world of single malt whisky. 1️⃣ While wine is crafted from grapes and single malt whisky from barley, both offer a remarkable diversity and complexity in their flavors. 2️⃣ Both beverages are usually aged in oak barrels in order to provide flavor and allow the ingredients time to integrate for balance. 3️⃣ Many whiskies today are matured in sherry casks, imparting fruit-forward notes and an elegant finish on the palate. This similarity allows wine lovers to easily connect with these whiskies. The PaulJohnWhisky Oloroso Select Cask is perfect for wine lovers, with sherry-influenced flavors and a sophisticated finish. It pairs beautifully with rich dishes like roasted duck, aged cheeses, or dark chocolate desserts. Share this video with other wine and single malt enthusiasts so that they can add a dash of fun, adventure and variety to their drinking experience. Cheers 🥂 #sonalholland #masterofwine #whisky #whiskylover #wineenthusiasts

There are few things worse for a wine drinker/collector than finally opening that special bottle for a special occasion, to then find its contents have withered and dulled due to poor storage. Wine has a life cycle. The purpose of ageing wine is to bring out tertiary flavours and textural changes that can only develop with time, given the proper storage conditions to do so... and to that end we present the DN Do's and Don'ts of wine cellaring! https://lnkd.in/gEv2Jz4E

How a Wine Glass Works 🍷 📌 Releasing aromas. Enjoying wine is all about aromas. It’s the same joy as smelling bacon frying or sniffing a hot cup of Chai tea. With wine, the aromas are released as the alcohol volatilizes from the surface of the wine. Having an increased surface area is a benefit to optimize releasing aromas while drinking. 📌 Collecting aromas. It’s a surprise that not more coffee and tea cups have ‘aroma collectors’, because they’d benefit from the same effect that the bowl of a wine glass offers to wine. Depending on the style of wine, you may want a large aroma collector or a smaller one. There are no set rules for this logic, however we’ve seen that white wines typically have smaller aroma collectors and bowls to maintain their temperature whereas red wines typically have larger bowls to showcase their aromas. 📌 Thin lips. There are differing opinions on the lip of a glass, however the general consensus is that the thinner the lip of the glass, the less ‘in the way’ the glass is to the drinking experience. We’ve seen this in all types of glasses, from water to whiskey. Grisel Vargas Master profiler of Spirits. Covering the world of food, wine and spirits, I get to try a lot of interesting things every year, but recently one new taste really jumped out. It was the Redbreast Missouri Oak Edition whiskey, and it was wonderful, one of the best new whiskies I’ve tried in a long time. It’s also an offbeat cultural/geographic mash-up, as Redbreast is a respected old-school Irish whiskey producer, which claims to be the most awarded single pot still whiskey producer on earth, with many gold and double gold medal from prestigious competitions. Unlike most Irish whiskies, which are blends, they make high-end single pot still distillations, typically aged in sherry and bourbon casks like some of the finest single malt Scotches. But in this case, in addition to sherry and bourbon, the whiskey gets time in virgin Missouri Oak barrels from the Ozarks. This is a region of great natural beauty that is known for a lot of things, but high-end whiskey is not one of them. It’s the first spirit other than moonshine and corn whiskey that I’ve seen marketed with an Ozarks connection, so I thought I would try it, and I’m glad I did. READ MORE...https://buff.ly/3WJTKir

It's #NationalWhiteWineDay! When serving, one standard drink of white wine is 5 ounces of wine (wine is usually 12% alcohol). And be sure to chill your wine: - light & crisp to 40°F - medium-bodied to 45°F - oaky wines with more body to 50-55°F

It's officially here! Our Special Reserve Añejo is available for pre-order. I'm not typically an añejo drinker so why did we release one? A little back story ... We started out by double barrel aging our Rosa Reposado is both rosé wine barrels and then pinot noir barrels. After our first run we decided to craft a lighter, younger reposado only aged in rosé wine barrels. We still had four pinot noir barrels filled with tequila and I kind of forgot about them. On a visit to our distillery, we remembered about the four barrels and decided to give it a try at cask strength (basically the strength we filled the casks at - there's some evaporation so although we fill at 45 ABV it came out a little over 44 ABV). I am not a high proof person and generally don't like añejo, so I was shocked when I fell in love with this product. I didn't even have bottles for this expression so it took a while to get it bottled and to the States to share it with all of you. The final product is an incredible 44 ABV (88 Proof) Special Reserve Añejo that is aged for four months in casks formerly used for rosé wine production and then for 15.5 months in pinot noir barrels. We have a limited quantity and I'm not sure when or if we'll make an añejo again so pre-order it now on our website. #womenowned #additivefreetequila #femalefounder https://lnkd.in/g9an4M-b

Did you know? The term "dry" refers to the level of sweetness in the wine. A "dry" wine contains little to no residual sugar, meaning that all the sugars from the grape juice have been fermented into alcohol by yeast. The absence of residual sugar gives dry wines a lack of sweetness on the palate. 🍷 Conversely, a wine described as "sweet" indicates the presence of noticeable residual sugar, as some of the grape sugars have not been fermented and remain in the finished wine, contributing a sweet taste.🍷 #PepperGreenEstate #SouthernHighlands #AwardWinningWines
