🎤 Live Talk on "TICKing All the Boxes: Generated Checklists Improve LLM Evaluation and Generation" - Next Monday 📢 Join us for a live talk in the 🐫 CAMEL-AI Discord with Jonathan Cook about the paper "TICKing All the Boxes: Generated Checklists Improve LLM Evaluation and Generation" by The University of Oxford, UCL & Cohere. The paper introduces TICK (Targeted Instruct-evaluation with Checklists), a novel evaluation framework for LLMs that generates tailored checklists to assess specific instruction-following abilities by structuring evaluations around yes/no questions; TICK improves alignment with human judgments, while STICK (Self-TICK) allows LLMs to iteratively refine their responses based on this targeted feedback, enhancing performance across diverse benchmarks.✨ 🔗 Dive into the research beforehand: https://lnkd.in/eanJVuCk - ⏰ When: 11/11/24 @ 6:00 PM BST / 10:00 AM PDT - 🗺️ Where: https://lnkd.in/ey_D6e9x

This paper has a solution to in context knowledge conflicts in LLMs, where a model is supplied something that's different to its training. The method, SpARE, let's you control the use of either knowledge source at inference time. So you can give a sequence to steer_to_use_parameter or steer_to_use_context and the LLM is guided to rely on that thing over the rest. In the demo, the authors give sequences with erroneous information in like that Taylor Swift won a nobel prize or Hinton sung 'shake it off' Check out the paper and demo. It's pretty early stage, but interesting to try out.

Calls: The 3rd Workshop on Charting Honorific and Addressee Morphosyntactic Processes... to create a window into the syntax-pragmatics interface: Call for Papers: The purpose of CHAMP 3 is to bring together researchers with different backgrounds (both in terms of sub-discipline and theoretical stance) to engage in a dialogue regarding the empirical landscape of addressee-sensitive phenomena as well as their implications for our understanding of the division of labour of morphosyntax and pragmatics. We aim to create an inclusive, stimulating, and constructive atmosphere where ideas can be discussed from a variety of perspectives. To this
