#TestimonialTuesday
We love hearing from the amazing businesses and learners we work with! Here’s what one learner had to say about their experience:
"I chose this apprenticeship because lifelong learning is so important as an adult. Management skills are fundamental to success and while I’ve been a manager in previous roles and organisations, I haven’t yet had that opportunity with my current employer. This course is helping me build the skills, knowledge and methodologies I need to become a truly effective manager - and bring that aspiration to life."
At SEATS, we pride ourselves on providing tailored, impactful training solutions that truly make a difference. Feedback like this is what it’s all about!

Over the last 18 months, our team has experienced significant growth and transformation, particularly since Matthew Spencer's return. His contributions and commitment have been integral to our progress, and it’s been rewarding to witness his development and the steps he's taking toward gaining a recognised qualification to support his extensive experience.
Reflecting on this journey, I was reminded of Tuckman’s stages of team development, a model I explored during my degree in Business Management (almost 10 years ago). These stages—forming, storming, norming, performing, and potentially adjourning—provide an insightful lens to assess our team dynamics.
1. Forming
When Matt rejoined 18 months ago, the team was in a period of transition. New roles, changing responsibilities, and the need to integrate fresh perspectives marked this stage. There was excitement about the possibilities ahead, as we worked to understand individual strengths and collective goals.
2. Storming
As is natural in any evolving team, we faced challenges during this phase. Differences in working styles, expectations, and priorities surfaced. Healthy discussions and debates helped us address these differences and navigate conflicts constructively. This stage was critical for establishing open communication and setting the foundation for trust.
3. Norming
With time and effort, we began to find our rhythm. Shared values and norms emerged, and we started to operate more cohesively. Matt's approach and growing confidence played a key role in helping the team align its efforts. Trust and collaboration became central to our daily interactions, which laid the groundwork for sustained growth.
4. Performing
Today, the team is functioning at a high level. We’ve adapted to changes, optimised workflows, and embraced innovation. Matt's contributions have been especially impactful, and his journey toward formal qualifications will further strengthen his role in the team. The trust, respect, and camaraderie we've built allow us to approach challenges with confidence and achieve our shared objectives.
5. Looking Ahead
As we continue to evolve, there may be further changes, leading to the adjourning phase for certain projects or team compositions. However, the strong foundation we’ve established ensures that we can transition smoothly and continue to thrive in any configuration.
Well done Matt, looking forward to seeing you develop even further with Access Training Limited and enrolling onto your Operation Management Level 5 apprenticeship in the next few months!
Offering support and guidance on apprenticeships, levy and training.
A belated Happy New Year to you all. I can’t believe we’re already over a week in to 2025!
I’m not really one for waiting for the 1st January to make resolutions and had an ongoing one through 2024 which is now approaching its conclusion – to get a formal management qualification that backs up my experience and to be able to progress in my role at Access Training Limited.
Today I’m in the office attending an End Point Assessment preparation session for my Team Leader apprenticeship finishing off my portfolio and reviewing the work I have done so far. Completing this course has given me a much better understanding of apprenticeships and has really helped my personal and professional development.
The Team Leader apprenticeship covers a number of areas that you may not think of such as:
· Team Dynamics/Developing a High Performing Team
· Coaching and Developing Team Members
· Legislation, Governance and Budget Control
· Time Management and Delegation
· Plus lots more
I find Team Dynamics to be a really interesting subject as it helps you to understand yourself much better (by completing personality profiles, asking the team for feedback and reviews, etc) and in turn this helps you to understand what makes other people tick. It also covers the importance of being able to spot peoples talents and strengths within a team (as well as understanding what motivates them) which can improve motivation as well as boosting productivity and staff retention by making people feel important and valued for their contributions. I can also help to give balance to a team by having a broad range of skills and capabilities.
Being able to unlock the potential of your colleagues will benefit your organization but will also have a huge benefit to the individuals that it impacts – being able to trust the people around you and delegate tasks to them is vital in an increasingly busy workplace.

Courtney recognised the value of hands-on experience and so joined EE’s “Aspire” programme. For Courtney this was a springboard for personal growth, #resilience, and #confidence.
Courtney Hannah Taylor began her professional journey with a background in travel and tourism from college, where she realised that customer service would be a cornerstone of her future career.
Recognising the value of hands-on experience, Courtney joined EE's “Aspire” programme—a specialised customer service #apprenticeship with Itec Skills and Employment that empowers individuals to grow both personally and professionally in a supportive, real-world environment.
Initially, Courtney faced significant challenges. The prospect of speaking with customers over the phone was daunting, and she struggled with anxiety and nervousness. However, Courtney’s team provided her with invaluable support, especially her Team Leader, Jade Pittick, who created a reassuring environment. Jade’s mentorship, along with a culture of openness, helped Courtney overcome her initial fears, assuring her that she was never alone in her journey.
Adding to this support was Jacqueline Gwilim, one of Itec’s dedicated assessors who works closely with EE’s apprentices. Jacqueline offered personalised one-on-one and group coaching, tailored to each learner’s unique needs. Through Jacqueline’s thoughtful approach, Courtney received the individualised guidance that helped her gradually build confidence and master key #skills. This targeted support played a crucial role in Courtney’s progress, enabling her to thrive both technically and emotionally within the apprenticeship.
As Courtney advanced, the structured blend of practical experience and structured learning helped her grow beyond her initial anxieties. She overcame her fear of phone communication and developed a newfound confidence in her interactions with customers. Now, she is not only comfortable in her role but also thinking ambitiously about her future. Inspired by her own journey, Courtney aspires to become a Team Leader to support other apprentices as they start their careers, with the long-term goal of progressing to an Operations Manager role.
Courtney's journey exemplifies how a thoughtfully structured apprenticeship programme can equip individuals with essential skills, helping them unlock their potential and build a fulfilling, lifelong career.

Anyone who thinks 15 starts per month in this space is un achievable, take note 📝
Of course a lot depends on the sectors, but I see BD candidates go quiet on me when I discuss targets and KPI’s with them.

🚨 🚨 🚨 Training and Development in 2025 🚨 🚨 🚨
So far in January, I have placed 19 individuals on either a Digital or Managerial apprenticeship. These individuals range between 17 and 54 years of age, work for different companies, and have various roles within their businesses.
But they each have something in common. They have decided that in 2025, they will focus on developing new skills and become an even more productive and valued asset within their organisation. Furthermore, they all work for an employer that understands the benefits of investing in staff development and the importance of choosing an Ofsted outstanding training provider.
If your goal is to develop yourself or your team in 2025, please reach out to me today and we can set aside some time to work on a development plan that is specific to your needs.

In this clip taken from our Level 5 Excelling in Professional Coaching apprenticeship, best-selling author and learning junkie Dr Andy Cope gives some great insight into how your own positivity can impact the creativity and motivation in your teams.
“When you’re being your best self, they’re being their best self – and what will happen is that it will spark lots of creativity, ideas and discussions that wouldn’t happen in a coaching conversation that’s dower, downbeat and focused on problems.“
