It's tricky to see ourselves from a truly objective viewpoint. We all tend to be pretty good at identifying other people's poor leadership skills, BUT not so great at identifying our own. Over 50% of leaders consider themselves exemplary: regardless of their team's poor performance. Tsk tsk. Identifying the gaps in your own leadership is foundational for building self-awareness. We are in the final month of the year, making it the perfect time to reflect on our leadership journeys and the legacies we are building. In answering a recent question, our Principal Ronnie L. Bryant, CEcD, FM, HLM shared this key piece of wisdom for all RLB Leadership Academy participants: “Understand where you are in your leadership journey and recognize the evolution it has taken. Seek opportunities to improve the areas where you feel you fall short, and in the areas where you excel, help others reach that same level of achievement.” As we wrap up 2024, let’s take this moment to assess our growth, embrace the opportunities to improve, and lift others to new heights with the strengths we’ve developed. We’re excited to continue empowering nonprofit leaders to build legacies that will make a lasting impact.
