We’re thrilled to share that we’re a finalist in the 2024 Recalibrate Gender Equity Awards in the SME Organisations 101 to 499 employees category. We’re also continually improving our recruitment practices to help remove barriers to employment. And we’re seeing results, with more than 40 per cent of senior executive and non-executive positions held by women as of June 2024 Hosted by Business in Heels, we’re looking forward to joining our fellow finalists later this month to celebrate those businesses and people creating more inclusive workplaces. #GenderEquity #InclusiveWorkplace #DiversityAndInclusion

On International Women’s Day we’re acknowledging contributions from women around the world and show our commitment and allyship. The underrepresentation of women in senior leadership positions across industries remains a significant challenge. At Swiss Re, we are embedding initiatives, practices and capabilities across the company to change this through concrete gender ambitions, dedicated programmes to advance women talent and inclusive people practices such as equalised parental leave offerings. Our aim is to create an inclusive culture where all employees can bring their whole selves to work, feel a sense of belonging and work together for impact. We believe with diverse backgrounds and opinions; we will make better decisions and drive stronger performance. Charmaine Hunzwi asks; ‘So if you know of stories of women in executive leadership who are thriving, please share. Help a girl out!” So here is the share you sked for, Charmaine. Charmaine aspires to build a career in executive leadership, but the concept of the 'glass cliff' gives her a pause. “I find myself grappling with a recurring theme in my discussions with my therapist - "at what cost?" Thus, I proceed on my career journey with a sense of unease.” “According to Workplace Gender Equality Agency, women make up 42 percent of all employees in Australia but only a quarter of executives and a mere 10 percent of CEOs in large, for-profit companies. Adding the layers of being a migrant and a Black woman only widens this gap for someone in my position.” Navigating the glass ceiling is just one challenge; KPMG's report, "She’s Price(d)less," reveals that the Australian gender pay gap amounts to approximately $1 billion, with the gap widening from 6 percent among the lowest earners to 18 percent among executives. Despite numerous diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, the fundamental flaw lies in attempting to retrofit into an industrial system never designed with women in mind. A radical rethinking of work and job design is crucial, considering factors such as the burden of care, equitable access to opportunities, and fair compensation. However, resistance to change, especially from those benefiting from the existing system, poses a significant challenge. 💖 #InternationalWomensDay 💖 is the day where we celebrate the amazing work of the women in our lives. At ETC, we are privileged to work alongside some pretty talented women who make a significant difference to the communities we serve. The theme this year is #InspireInclusion and while at ETC we have a high number of women across all levels of the organisation, for instance 72% of our Managers are women, there is a lot of work to do across the broader community. As an example across all employers, while there is a general even split across all roles, just 42% of management roles are women and an even lower 36% across Executive levels roles. It is this gap that results in a large gender pay gap across Australia that currently sits at 19%. True inclusion will only occur when this is balanced. Equality is not just a word at CARRHURE, it's one of our seven pillars. We firmly believe that everyone deserves a fair shot at success, regardless of their background. In a recent McKinsey & Company study about ‘Diversity matters even more: The case for holistic impact’, “Companies with representation of women exceeding 30 percent (and thus in the top quartile) are significantly more likely to financially outperform those with 30 percent or fewer.” The study demonstrates a clear link between strong female representation and superior financial performance—which aligns perfectly with our commitment to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best. At CARRHURE, we go beyond providing equal opportunities; we actively advance an environment free from discrimination, allowing every individual to unleash their full potential. #diversityandinclusion #EmpowerEqualityAtCARRHURE #carrhure #womenempowerment
