This was on the Rietspruit Game Reserve earlier this week but next week they tackle a high risk situation for both black and white rhino in the western part of Limpopo province ina public and private reserve where over 100 rhino aren’t being horn trimmed due to budget constraints. Live coverage of the horn trimming operation led by Rhino Revolution will be streamed online to people who pay to watch and through this funding cover the extensive costs for such a large undertaking. The team involved Rhino Revolution staff, LEDET (Limpopo Parks), Gerry and Bruce McDonald twin brothers who pilot a chopper and fixed wing respectively, Vet team from Wildlife Vets and a ground crew. Horn trimming has been shown in a scientific meta analysis to be the single most effective anti-poaching action that can be taken but costs around R15,000 per rhino. leaks can occur which appear simple and straight forward to find.... once you have found them. however, factor in a large scale equestrian center & farm with multiple dwellings, outbuildings, sheds, stables, multiple fields with multiple troughs for the horses, new extensions, rerouting of pipework to different fields and new buildings all having hidden water sources, the customer just didn't know where to start.   By carrying out CAT & Genny surveys to identify the routes of the external mains pipework & Electronic Acoustic Surveys we were able to identify this leak on a hidden external stop tap, that the customer was unaware existed, which was feeding an original garage. As you cast, start with the rod tip low, ensuring you have about 7 to 10 yards of line extended. This allows the rod to load properly during your backcast. If you hear a loud whoosh, it means your technique needs adjustment.
