In a successful case study, direct milling and mirror surface machining of a cemented carbide component for an automotive connector press die were executed using a high-precision machining center. Despite the component's simple shape, consisting of a flat area and a vertical wall, challenges arose during machining due to extended G01 commands, leading to impacts at transition points. CAM-TOOL's 'Component Point Rearrangement' function proved instrumental in dividing and relocating the original linear data to specified structure points at regular intervals, effectively addressing fogging issues on the mirror surface caused by sudden accelerations and decelerations. By aligning the characteristics of the machine, tool, and NC data, the study achieved remarkable results, boasting an arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) of 5.142 nm and a mirror surface finish on the flat areas.
