Italian PV installations in H1: +44%. As of June 30, the total amount of PV in operation in Italy reached 3,3,623 MW, for a total of 1,763 MW. 977 systems have been installed. Over the past 12 months, PV capacity has increased by 6,253 MW, with 339,991 new systems in operation. As the pie chart shows, the share of new systems in terms of power is very different: the 1-12 kW size accounts for 25% of the total capacity; the share of 1-10 MW plants is increasing and is currently at 20% #solareenergia #energiarinnovabile #solarbatteria #lifepo4batteria #energystorage #batterysystem #homebatteria #cleanenergy #energia solarpower

In H1, Germany installed 7.55 GW of solar power. 1,136.9 MW of new PV systems were registered in June, according to the Bundesnetzagentur (German Federal Network Agency). In May 2024, the country installed 946 MW, and in June 2023, 1,046.8 MW. Germany's newly installed PV capacity increased from about 6.26 GW in the same period last year to 7.55 GW in the first half of this year. At the end of June, Germany had 90.2 GW of installed PV capacity, distributed among around 4.25 million PV systems. During the first half of this year, Bavaria had the biggest rise, with around 1.76 GW, followed by North Rhine-Westphalia with 1.02 GW and Baden-Württemberg with 1.07 GW. #solarpower #cleanenergy #PV #solar #solarproject #solarmount #technology #solarenergy #renewableenergy #greenenergy

📢 KPX Improves Real-Time Power Data Accuracy Starting from this Nov 29th, The Korea Power Exchange (KPX) has taken a significant step towards improving the accuracy of its real-time power supply and demand data. ☀️ By incorporating previously unaccounted-for power generation from residential solar panels (BTM) and solar power generated through Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with KEPCO, the KPX now provides a more comprehensive view of the nation's energy landscape. This is a positive development, and I believe there's still more to be done in terms of transparent information disclosure in the energy sector. Hooray for KPX for taking this important first step! #KPX #PowerMarket #RenewableEnergy #GridManagement #EnergyTransition #SouthKorea #EnergyTransparency

In 2023, NREL reports record global #solar PV installations of 446 gigawatts of utility-scale and distributed. By 2030, five terawatts (TWdc) of PV may be installed, and up to 15 TWdc of PV could be installed by 2050. That is 66% more generation capacity than all the electric generation assets currently installed around the world combined. In the US, solar was over half of new electricity generation capacity, with 32–40 GWdc of PV installed. Strong growth of #solarplusstorage #DER https://lnkd.in/gDSptSyz

I encourage industry peers to read this piece at Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables website about China’s new #solar manufacturing guidelines. It seems like it wasn’t taken seriously and widely discussed by analysts accross the industry, however, in Wood Mackenzie we believe that these new guidelines will enhance significant changes in solar manufacturing in China and will tackle the issues that the industry is facing right now. Thanks to Huaiyan Sun for helping to collect important data for this piece from polysilicon manufacturers. We will provide more in depth analysis in our Q4 briefing that is going to be published at the beginning of January.
In November 2024, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released revised guidelines for the #solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. The new guidelines are set to reshape the solar industry, addressing #overcapacity, pricing #volatility and #inefficiency across the value chain. From the 200 GW expansion that likely won’t happen to the higher-efficiency N-type modules that are gaining market share, our experts break down what these new guidelines mean for the industry: https://okt.to/4CR0zS
