Stress reduction, restraint and seclusion I am delighted to partner the Alliance agaisnt Seclusion and Restraint for this web conference. It is an opportunity to understand in an empathic manner the approach to stress management and stress reduction. I will be be speaking about how we can reduce and eliminate restraint by creating arousal regulation and co regulation which is the cornerstone of the low arousal approach.Critical to this is the double empathy approach where we change our behaviour in the first instance. As a result of nonprofit advocacy, the federal government is piloting new approaches to make federal grants more accessible to smaller and under-resourced organizations by simplifying and streamlining the application process. This federal grant opportunity from the U.S. Department of Justice is one example. Do you know a community-serving nonprofit that might be competitive for this funding? Grants of up to $200,000 will be provided to nonprofits that address the basic needs of crime victims, such as transportation, temporary or transitional housing, clothing, food, and other items for their well-being, healing, or safety. The funding will support culturally specific victim-serving organizations that understand the complex, multilayered, and specific challenges that crime victims from underserved communities face when attempting to access services. In the wake of hurricanes striking across the Southeast this fall, nonprofit organizations played a vital role in delivering much needed aid to hard hit communities. Last month, nonprofits across the country took part in educating voter. They registered young people to vote, and encouraged broad participation in the democratic process.
