A couple of years ago, we identified 7 European fintech ecosystems with populations similar to ours as benchmarks to measure our growth. Hi Finally could get to writing this! Global Fintech Fest 2024 was a productive experience! Attended Day 2 that worked out well for us :) A few takeaways: 1. The feedback from exhibitors was positive for making connections. We could meet with over five relevant companies—connections that might have taken days to secure otherwise. Warm intros and meaningful discussions became a breeze! Maybe next time, we can see Vested as one of the exhibitors :) 2. Interestingly, even very early-stage startups are now focused on profitability with clear plans to reach break-even. I had the opportunity to meet many founders who prefer sustainable growth over relying solely on external funding. 3. There were too many sessions for anyone to cover. Ended up attending only a couple of those which were good actually. Definitely meet the speakers afterward for a quick conversation! 4. On time & place management - We set up our meetings with existing and potential stakeholders in and around the venue, which worked well. With the traffic and sheer footfall, pre-booking meetings is a must. A personal tip: plan a few of your meet-ups post-event over drinks (a lot of options nearby) it’s easier to leave the venue late (post 8pm). The key takeaway? Network & meet people, explore what’s happening in the fintech (or even startup) world, and catch a session or two that sparks your interest.
