The U.S. is projected to face a shortage of up to 139,000 #physicians by 2033 according to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). If each physician carries a panel of 2000 patients, then 278 million Americans will lack access to physician care over the next decade and beyond. That’s close to the entire U.S. population. This shortage will affect the entire country. If you think it’s tough getting an appointment to see a physician now, just wait. This gap is expected across various specialties, with primary care being particularly affected. There is a current shortage that is worsening each year. Access to care has become a problem in urban and rural areas alike. It doesn’t have to be this way. One solution: Leveraging available digital technology platforms with virtual healthcare offerings like Revive-BHS as a benefit for your organization’s employees. Revive-BHS is available for both individuals and organizations alike. Your employees deserve immediate access to healthcare in their time of need. In healthcare, there's often a misconception that interdisciplinary care means we need to change our hats and assume the role of another discipline. But the truth is, interdisciplinary care is not about becoming someone else; it's about collaborating within our own expertise while respecting and integrating the knowledge of others. It's about bringing our unique skills to the table, working together to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients. When we talk about who the enemy is in healthcare, it’s not each other. The enemy is inefficiency, poor communication, ego, and fragmented care that leaves patients feeling like they’re being shuffled around without a clear direction. We must remember that the true adversary is anything that stands in the way of providing cohesive, patient-centered care. Together, as a team of professionals from different backgrounds, we can break down these barriers and build a more effective, collaborative healthcare system. The power of interdisciplinary care lies in the collective strength of our collaboration, not in losing our identity but in enhancing it through partnership. Let’s continue to focus on working together, not against each other, to combat the real challenges our patients face. #healthcare

It feels like we’re starting to see a shift among physicians. From being cogs in the wheel of the medical industrial complex to starting their own practices. This is especially true for physicians whose values clash with those of private equity owned health systems. Feels like more and more physicians now want to see patients on their own terms… And have discovered they have more opportunities than they realize! This is GREAT news. A few other thoughts on this: Physicians who have autonomy over how they take care of patients are happier and healthier. Physicians are becoming savvy entrepreneurs. Physician-owned practices are the future of healthcare.

Let me make this clear! It is a pain in the ass but now two physicians with hybrid DPCs and a dentist with a hybrid DPD in my network. And I as I beta test on their employee base to get results and see what can be reengineered. Trying to work with urgent care facilities and strong networks of practitioner associations is a difficult haul to bring in as we market test. But the academic approach is key. Mapping repetition in care will allow us to view the issue differently with respects respects to managed care. Many great authors worth reading. Richard M. J. Bohmer has written a great book ‘Managing Care: How Clinicians Can Lead Change and Transform Healthcare’, which I highly recommend. I think the aproach of healthcare has to be first tackled internally through group plans created and costumized around small business clinics to stress test strategies with novel models in healthcare practices; especially, private practices.

The dynamics of healthcare are undergoing a profound transformation. We're shifting away from a paternalistic model towards a collaborative partnership between patients and providers. This evolution is fueled by empowered patients, who are taking an increasingly active role in their health journey. Patients today are armed with information, thanks to digital tools and accessible medical knowledge. They're seeking transparency, personalization, and a genuine partnership with their healthcare providers. This shift demands a more collaborative approach from clinicians, prioritizing open communication, shared decision-making, and patient education. By fostering trust and mutual respect, we can create a healthcare system that delivers better outcomes, improves patient satisfaction, and strengthens the bond between patients and providers.
