We've just published evidence that SIBO is apparent from breath readings taken during the day, i.e. in a non-fasting state. In fact, we see that hydrogen is strongly elevated in these "post-prandial" breath readings and returns to normal following the usual antibiotic treatment. This statistically robust insight lends further support for the use of day-to-day breath monitoring as part of remote patient monitoring (RPM) programs. At FoodMarble we believe this is a key element of managing serious gastrointestinal conditions, in particular recurrent SIBO. This paper arose from a registered clinical trial completed at Johns Hopkins Medicine and included validation data.
