Fall Detection with YOLOv9, Ultralytics, and OpenCV Proud to share the results of a recent computer vision project where I leveraged the power of the YOLOv9 model from the Ultralytics library and OpenCV to detect falls in real-time. The model can recognize when a person falls to the ground and immediately sends an alert containing the first detected frame along with a custom message to a designated Telegram channel. This system could be a game-changer in environments like elder care, home monitoring, or workplaces where fall detection is critical. Please check out our paper, where we enhance the strong DINOv2 vision encoder and other foundation models for various dense tasks. Our method is intuitive and straightforward: the order of nearest neighbors among patch representations should remain consistent across different views.
🎉 I am thrilled to announce that our paper "NEAR, FAR: PATCH-ORDERING ENHANCES VISION FOUNDATION MODELS’ SCENE UNDERSTANDING" has been accepted at #ICLR2025! 🚀 In this work, we introduce NeCo (Patch Neighbor Consistency), a novel self-supervised method that significantly improves the spatial representations of pretrained models like DINOv2. Using our approach, we achieved remarkable results: • From around +6% to +5% mIoU on small to large subsets of ADE20k and from +14% to +6% mIoU, respectively on Pascal VOC, for in-context segmentation. • Around +7% and +6% mIoU for linear segmentation on COCO-Things and COCO-Stuff, respectively. • Around +17% and +15% mIoU for unsupervised semantic segmentation on Pascal VOC and COCO-Things, respectively. All of this was accomplished in just 19 GPU hours on a single NVIDIA RTX A6000!
