🥦❄️ Our distributor recently successfully implemented the RCF-P 68 FG in various deep-frozen food and deep-frozen vegetable companies in Spain. The companies observed the formation of (waxy) residues in the compressor housing/crankcase, leading to operational halts of the compressor. The issue was aggravated during the hot season when compressors had to work harder to maintain the same cooling temperature. 👉 Both customers replaced their lubricant with Anderol® RCF-P 68 FG, an ISO 68 synthetic PAO-based lubricant specially designed for compressor systems using refrigerants such as ammonia and carbon dioxide, where incidental food contact may occur. Anderol® RCF-P 68 FG is based on a blend of specially selected non-toxic synthetic PAO combined with high-performance additive technology. 👉 Both companies noticed that the lubricant remains significantly cleaner, maintaining a pure liquid state without waxes and residues even after extended operating hours. Another positive effect was the enhanced reliability and efficiency in the installations, attributed to the low pour point of –54°C. Check out Matt's top tips for cleaning your instrument: ✅ Flush with ultra pure water or binary solution of ethanol in water (approx. 10% v/v) ✅ At the end of the working day, a more thorough clean is advised. This should be performed using a proprietary cleaning agent such as Mucasol® 3% solution , Alconox® 1% solution or RBS50. ✅ Weekly cleaning should be performed using a cleaning solution containing NaOCl (bleach) and NaOH. The European F-Gas Regulation has been updated, bringing some changes you need to know about cooling and air conditioning systems in breweries. From March 11, 2024, new rules apply for fluorinated refrigerants. ❄️ What does this mean for you? 🔹 Use of refrigerants: The use of fluorinated refrigerants will be restricted. Start transitioning to more environmentally friendly alternatives like propane, CO2, or ammonia. 🔹 Operator obligations: You must ensure not only smooth operations but also compliance with legal requirements. Training on flammable and toxic refrigerants is more important than ever. 🔹 Phase-down and phase-out: The allowed quantity of HFC refrigerants will be reduced more quickly. By 2050, they are expected to be completely phased out of the market. 🔹 Maintenance and service: Bans on usage could lead to shortages of high-GWP refrigerants. Focus on proper collection and recycling of refrigerants. 🔹 Leak checks: Regular inspections are mandatory! New regulations also include checks for HFO refrigerants starting from a one kilogram filling. ❄️ Want all the details?
