Yesterday, we learned that a company I founded in 2005 and sold, prior to Sage, will be ceasing operations this Friday. This news has left us deeply saddened, especially those of us here at #Sage where many of our team members started their careers. Our hearts go out to the over 100 former team members affected by this closure. In response, we are hosting a #HiringFair at our office to assist as many of our former colleagues as possible. Given the challenging market conditions, we are limited in how many we can hire, so we are reaching out to other #logistics companies in #Nashville and the surrounding areas to join us in this effort. After 14.5 years of building that company, we never anticipated this outcome. As someone who has led brokerages for thirty years, I can say this economic downturn is unprecedented. Both as a broker and a carrier, I feel the impact. I urge logistics companies in Nashville, especially those who began their careers with us, to help #network and support our former team members who face an uncertain future. While Sage is committed to placing as many people as we can within our network, we cannot do it alone. Day 2 of the Dyson job fair / Design Truth Over hundred thousand views and a interview with the Bristol Post after day one. 😅 Here is your update: Date: 5th August / 1-6 (We changed this to due an event happening the week prior that would clash with certain employers.) Venue - it’s done, booked in, you’ll know where to go when we drop tickets. Firstly we need to sort the employers bit. I want to see 15-20 employers who are interested in potentially employing Dyson designers & engineers. You will also hear from ex Dyson alumni who will speak about their journeys. If that applies to you, please get in touch. This is going to be an uplifting experience. What I wanted to say and be absolutely crystal clear on is the reason I’m doing this is not just for the 1000 people who have been made redundant. We have a responsibility to the next generation, and this attack on design & engineering is a travesty to young people who are trying everything to enter this industry. This shit does not help.
