🌟 My Retail Journey at Foschini Clearwater Malll 🌟 I started my journey as a Seasonal Contractor (Fashion Consultant) at TFG (The Foschini Group) Foschini Clearwater Mall on 15 November 2024, and it has been an incredible learning experience that has truly shaped me both professionally and personally. At first, I found it challenging to make sales—it was intimidating to meet the daily and weekly targets. But with determination and a lot of learning, I managed to pull off a personal best of R4714.00 in sales in one shift, which was one of the top sales made amongst other seasonal contractors. I’m so proud of this achievement, and it motivates me to keep striving for excellence! This role has also helped me develop a variety of skills, such as: ✅ Achieving Targets: Meeting daily, weekly, and Month-To-Date (MTD) targets, while striving to surpass last year’s sales figures, taught me discipline, focus, and the power of consistency. ✅ Customer Engagement: Convincing customers to make purchases and assisting with styling needs has sharpened my interpersonal and persuasion skills. ✅ Operational Efficiency: Managing online orders (One Stock/Bash), replenishing stock, and merchandising taught me the importance of organization and attention to detail. ✅ Assertive Communication: Working with staff and managers, even when communication was challenging, taught me how to stay professional, assertive, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity, as it has not only taught me how to navigate the challenges of retail but also prepared me for future roles by fostering adaptability, teamwork, and resilience. Genuinely curious. I can understand why not to put someone's full address on a resume (safety/privacy reasons?). What I don't understand is why some people don't even include city and state (e.g. Middletown, New Jersey) on their resume? If you're applying for a merchandising position that requires some days on site, the recruiter will be looking for where you live. By not including that, they will need to reach out and ask you, or skip the extra step and pass onto other resumes that provided the information upfront.
