I recently conducted a site inspection for a client conference and learned a valuable lesson - sometimes, it's the location that matters most. While the hotel was impressive in terms of guest rooms, meeting space, and amenities, the industrial surroundings were a huge turnoff. The hotel offered great rates, clean rooms, and welcoming staff, making it an attractive choice for events. However, the noise and lack of a walkable, inviting environment outside the venue for attendees to safely explore were significant drawbacks. Understanding the geographical location of a property within a city is crucial when selecting a venue. If possible, visit the sites before making a decision, or send a knowledgeable representative (LIKE ME!) to assess the surroundings.
