🌟 Reflecting on an inspiring session yesterday with Ellab Ireland on International Women’s Day! 🌟 It was a privilege to partner with a company whose progressive leaders Claire McMahon and Aoife Keaney truly prioritize their people's growth and development. Their commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is not just rhetoric; it's ingrained in their actions and willingness to have those challenging conversations and reflections on how we can do more. DEI isn't a one-size-fits-all solution—it's about tailoring strategies to fit the unique fabric of each organization, context, people and local community. Tools like a DEI scorecard to set aspirational goals and then localizing solutions is really powerful. The feedback from the very engaged and interested participants was amazing. Knowledge alone isn't enough; it's the motivation to improve and the actionable strategies that make a real difference. We need a world of real people who recognise we all have biases and take steps daily to do better. Let's continue striving for DEI in our workplaces, ensuring clear actions that everyone can understand and contribute to. It was a pleasure meeting with 'Ronke Kokoruwe on my recent trip to London. Out of kindness, she visited me, and we chatted and got to know each other better. I first met Ronke when she spoke at the Rise and Lead Women - Rise & Lead Summit in 2022. After we issued a call for speakers, she reached out, wondering if it was okay for her to apply. I encouraged her, saying, 'You should apply and let the team decide if you qualify.' Fortunately, she was selected and her presence brought a unique energy and inspiration to the Rise & Lead Summit stage. She also brought along her friend Yemi. Today, I appreciate both of them because, whether they are speaking or not, they ensure they secure tickets to join the Summit in The Hague. One of the ways we promote diversity in our speaker selection is through our call for speakers. We made this call last week, which was supposed to have closed yesterday. However, the applications we have received so far still lack diversity. As an organisation deeply committed to fostering diversity and inclusion, we intentionally ensure that people of all backgrounds, including men and women with a unique message to share are represented on the Rise & Lead stage. If you're still wondering whether to apply, please do so today. Let the speaker selection team decide. I recently attended the LEAD EBRG All-Ireland Conference, hosted at MSD Biotech 💫 It was a fantastic opportunity to meet my LEAD colleagues from across the MSD Ireland network. Meeting in person allows for our EBRG to grow stronger year on year. It is inspiring being part of such a hardworking team committed to taking actionable steps to create a more inclusive workplace culture. Our key objectives for 2025: 🫂 Promoting Allyship: Fostering a culture of support and understanding among all employees. 🖥️ Developing Professional Workshops: Equipping our workforce with the tools and knowledge to thrive. 🤝 Strengthening Partnerships: Collaborating with Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs) to amplify our efforts. 🔎 Increasing DE&I Visibility: Ensuring that our commitment to diversity is recognized and celebrated.
