𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. The integration of digital skills into educational programmes at all levels is a fundamental pillar for training the talents of tomorrow. 𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀!🛡️ #EUElections2024 The European Union also wants to protect itself and reduce its dependence, while remaining an open continent. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, spoke of the need for tighter controls on foreign investment within the EU and on exports of sensitive goods outside its borders, to prevent its sensitive technologies and critical infrastructures from falling into the wrong hands. The Commission is also pushing for "a minimum sectoral scope", which could cover artificial intelligence, the most sophisticated semiconductors, biotech and quantum computing. On the eve of the European elections in June, it is crucial to place the issue of inclusion and the development of digital skills at the heart of our priorities. That is why Beltug, Cigref, CIO Platform Nederland and VOICE - Bundesverband der IT-Anwender e.V. propose in its Manifesto an ambitious three-pronged approach to investing in digital skills: 👐 Providing all citizens with digital skills for their daily lives 🏢 Equipping professionals with the digital skills they need in the workplace 💡 Providing experts with the skills they need to develop new technologies    This proposal is in line with European work such as the Compass to 2030, which focuses on four main points, including a significant increase in digital skills. It is also in line with the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL), a new funding programme focused on bringing digital technologies to businesses, citizens and public administrations. Intensify EU strategic research to strengthen its competitiveness! 💪 #EUElections2024 In their Manifesto, Cigref, Beltug, CIO Platform Nederland and VOICE - Bundesverband der IT-Anwender e.V. point out that it is crucial to step up the EU's strategic research initiatives to explore alternatives to current digital technologies. For example, the Quantum Technologies Flagship, launched in 2018, is a large-scale, long-term research initiative with an EU-funded budget of €1 billion, bringing together research institutions developing European scientific leadership and excellence in this field. Targeted research and innovation efforts are essential to strengthen the EU's position in relation to its global competitors. By promoting European competition, innovation and economic growth will be stimulated. This approach also aims to reduce our dependence on certain suppliers and ensure the long-term prosperity of our continent.
